The turbo seems okay, at least for now... I guess there's a chance it's been damaged so it'll just have a shorter lifespan, but for now the car is running.

So SubyDude didn't bother to tell me when I was ordering my Bosal up-pipe w/ "overnight must have it by next weekend for my race" shipping that they were back ordered for months. When they finally figured out the situation, it was unfortunately Friday which meant no way I was getting a pipe before Saturday. But nonetheless, SubyDude upgraded me to a Perrin solid up-pipe at cost and shipped it Saturday delivery! So I co-drove Eric's car on Saturday, and installed the new pipe Saturday night.

I've gotta say, that Perrin up-pipe is a work of art. Polished stainless steel, PERRIN logo plaque welded to it. Gorgeous machined flanges. I didn't think a 10 inch long piece of bent pipe could be worth over $200, but I gotta say, the Perrin looks like it is. So I took my time installing it to make sure to tighten everything evenly to prevent leaks (since it's a non-flex I was really nervous). I used the new gaskest SubyDude provided and grabbed some new grade-8 bolts from Home Depot to make sure I could torque the uppipe-header joint properly.

I drove around Saturday night, and raced the car on Sunday, and so far it doesn't seem like it's leaking. Hopefully it'll handle the high-heat of the track. I'm actually mostly worried about the header/motor gaskets, since they've got stains like they've been leaking a bit, and they're pretty old. I'm actually thinking that I may have had a small leak between the header and motor that ended up causing all my melted bits on the passenger side of the motor and that it wasn't necessarily the skid plate... hrmmm.
