Well I won't argue with you on this age old topic. RallyX is abuse, but I think AutoX is actually harder on the internal workings of the drivetrain due to the extra traction the tires have. So while you are more likely to break suspension and steering components while RallyXing, I think you're more likely to blow diferential/tranny components while AutoXing. Then again, there was a blue WRX at the AutoX that broke steeing knuckle or some damn thing that left his wheel all cockeyed this weekend.
Additionally, I don't have any ethical issues with the way SOA denies claims on truly abused cars, but to include an invitation to a free SCCA membership with the car and then deny a claim when the customer takes SOA up on it does seem fucked up if you ask me.
I'd like to think that one positive result of all of the warrantee claims SOA foots the bill for is that they turn around and increase their quality. From what I hear, the MY06 WRX tranny is much improved upon, as it has been almost every year since it's intro in the US.
