My car is 100% a drag car from the ground up and it will never see a road course...EVER. Is that an automatic loss of respect?
Well, at least it has a purpose, I'll give it that. But, in reality, I'm rather indifferent to drag racing and dyno numbers. Its just personal taste, and its not like I have anything against drag racers personally, its just hard to get impressed by something that I don't care about. Having a 1.5 second 60ft time doesn't impress me because I don't really know if that's a good number or not, nor do I really care to take the time to find out. So, the answer is no, its not an automatic loss of respect, but it confers almost no automatic gain because most of the time the numbers mean nothing to me. So, you've got to forgive me if I don't get automatically impressed by good hp numbers or 1/4 mile times.

And I'm sure the converse is true. I could tell you I got 49.7xx seconds on the last auto-x of last year, but I'm sure that means next to nothing (hell, its been so long it'd probably mean next to nothing for anybody without digging up a time sheet or knowing what numbers to compare it against).
