I get this on the speedtest.net test

When I do the http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ I get
Last Result:
Download Speed: 21786 kbps (2723.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2120 kbps (265 KB/sec transfer rate)
Why are they so different? or is my KB/MB translation wrong.

edit: I had a torrent open while doing the speed test
