No, it was an HPDE at Sears Pt in November; the USTCC final race was there on Sunday too (watching Gary Sheehan in the WRX).

Autocross. Usually a pretty big turnout too. It's not on the runways tho, so you end up running on a grid of concrete slabs with aircraft tie-downs all over the place, and a light coating of sand if you run early. I found the traction in the Cal Expo parking lot to be a bit better. However, a Subaru should do reletively better in Monterey compared to the competition because of the AWD, but I only AutoX'd there once in the WRX... I used to run my T-Bird there.
The nice thing for the cars is the low altitude, cool air and perpetual cloud cover of Monterey.
