Most of the people on the board changed there suspension to accomplish a specific purpose. What is your purpose for lowering the car? Perforance, Looks.

MattR runs on STi pinks springs and 18" wheels for street usage. No rubbing.
But he doesn't use them for racing, so I'm wondering if they potentially rub when the car is pushed hard.

Eric also runs the same wheels, 18x 8.5 and he was running the tanabe lowering springs...It looked hot, but didn;t handle quite as good as sti pinks.,
3 Best Springs... 1. Sti Pinks Not very low, but excellent handling 2. Prodrives little lower, improved handling 3. Eibach. lower, better handling.

Careful, this is an 02 bugeye, not an STI I beleive, so the dampers may not be up to the heavier springs. Lower is only better until you run out of suspension travel. Ask Scott what running on bump stops or tire on fender is like.
Almost everyone I know that wants handling and goes for springs eventually ends up replacing them with coilovers. I'd suggest saving up for a set of Teins or similar, or you can go autrageous like I did and get DMS 50s with road race springs.

Tyson runs Eibachs on his 02, not only is it lower, it rides and handles great, and he's had no negative issues as far as I know.

It's actually pretty common to put an STI pink spring upgrade onto a WRX. They sell a speific spring for that application..

Struts are what will make the biggest difference. You are best off going with a strut and spring combo if you have the cash. Even KYB AGXs and Eibachs should make a world of difference for handling.

I'm selling those bad boys as soon as I can! How long can you wait on the spring upgrade? I will putting a new suspension on my car and I will have complete take-offs with less then 27k on them. I'll give you a SECCS deal if you wait a couple months.

I was lowered nearly 2" (Apex springs) with 18 inch wheels and 225/40 tires some time ago. I would rub the rear wheels on tight corners or with people in back. The ride was terrible being that low, so I switched to Prodrives and what an improvement. No more rubbing, better handling, and not such a slammed look. They will lower your car around an inch, maybe a touch more. I'm very pleased with them, and the Eibachs are supposedly very nice with a similar drop. I'm still waiting for my stock struts to give up so I can replace them with AGXs, my wife just won't let me spend that much money for something that doesn't NEED replacing. And I agree, we are far from rich.
