Anyone catch the movie "Love the Beast"?
Great Movie, I didn't know much about Eric Bana the actor, other than the fact that he's been in some underwhelming movies (for the most part) But his documentary that aired on Speed is really great. It includes Dr. Phil, Jay Leno and Jeremy Clarkson, which is kind of an odd group..But the movie is very well done, great "car" story...

Yeah, I saw it too. It was an interesting look at what happens when an ordinary guy who happens to be something of a car guy/race nut gets more money than he really should.

Watching it now...
I love the part where he is talking about wearing his driving shoes on the red carpet... "They're fireproof" or is it flameproof? OMG... ...two guys in race suits come out of the bush like aliens... "That's our car down the bottom of the hill..."

I had downloaded this movie a few months back. I find it very well done and very inspirational.

I disagree with what Jay said about not wrecking it if he had done the last rebuild. The choice to race and the urge to compete at least as powerful, especially when that race has almost as much history for Bana as the car does. That first race in that car is what got him into motorsports. Revisiting it in a much better prepared and funded manner only increases the urge to do well.
I also think Dr. Phil is full of it. Cheap therapy... Physics gets in the way of emotion in some respects. Many pieces of bent/broken metal cannot be made whole again, only replaced. Perhaps a better suggestion would be to "transplant" the heart/engine and other salvageable parts into a new body. That transplant becomes part of the memory, not a detractor from it. Heck, earlier they said that very little of the original car actually survived the last rebuild.

+1. If I had millions, I'd have a hard time wrecking a car I'd owned and loved for decades to the point where I wouldn't rebuild it. Of course, I'd only do it once, then I'd keep it at home and go wreck someone else's cars...

There is also nothing preventing you from having two of the same car. One, your beloved and cherished memories car that you pamper and another race prepared adopted red headed sister car that doesn't hold the same sentimental value that you take out and flog...
