This is the first time I have tried to watch a dvd on my new computer and its not going well. I just tried to watch 3:10 to Yuma and of course windows cocksucking media player cant do it because of some buuuulshit copy protection crap. I am just going to download the first free dvd player I google.
What do you use?

I've had a lot of luck with windows media player classic (version 6.something). I found it by accident when I was looking for something that could play real files without having to use fucking cunty realplayer. It turns out that windows media player actually used to be useful!

Thanks Dean. I used this to watch my movie. I did have a problem during movie play. There were 2 times when it jumped back to the beginning of the dvd. I don't know if that was a software error or if it had something to do with my dvd drive. The dvd itself was scratchfree/flawless.

I use VLC player, but I already see that the problem has been resolved. I like VLC player because it plays just about everything and the default icon is a traffic cone.

I use VLC for a lot of stuff, but didn't think it worked on DVDs...

I'd vote for VLC in place of my first recommendation.

I used to use VLC for a lot of things but I got tired of it's wonky interface. I'm using Windows Media Player 11 to view everything now.

By the way, by default Windows Media Player cannot playback DVDs because Windows does not come with an DVD decoder installed. Typically you can solve this by just installing the software that comes with your DVD player, or by downloading something that includes one (like Nvidia PureView Decoder).
