Default Reno SCCA "Club Trials!" Lovelock

Perhaps the most fun events renoscca puts on, this high-speed long distance version of autocross is the place to be...The first event is very close, I would encourage you to sign up and plan on going...In speaking to the event planner Greg Benson last night, it turns out the format will be a bit different this season. The runs will consist of "timed laps" vs. the single lap version last year...all in all, it will result in a lot of high speed, competitive seat time.

Here's the email

same. Please see the event supplemental regulations and SCCA Time Trials
Rules that are available on the www.RenoSCCA.Com website.

Several interested and very helpful members have been involved with the
revised course design and driving format that we will be using this year. We
are going to change from running a single lap at a time at a length of 2.5
miles to a run of 3 consecutive laps that will total approximately 3.6
miles.

We currently have about 20 participants that will be attending the event at
this time; I would like to get another 10-15 drivers. If you or someone you
know has an interest in this event, please get you/them signed up online at
Myautoevents.com or give me a call. I am also available on my cell phone to
answer any questions on car class or car safety requirements. Please note:
roll bars are required in convertibles at this event.

Thanks, Greg Benson

Jim Payne will be, but not me if I make it. I'm in TT4. Unfortunately I think that puts me in with everything rotary, and some V8 cars. And that's if I can scrounge up enough pocket change this month to make it there at all.

So, what's the plan for departing for Lovelock?

I know Mike K is going out Friday night, and Eric is going out Saturday morning, I am undecided as of now, I still have to get my car out of the body shop tomorrow, so that will have a big effect on my schedule.

I wanted to leave tonight... but my alignment issues might make that decision for me. If I can get out of work in time to get my alignment done, then I'm gonna want to leave tonight. Otherwise, it's gonna be a real early AM.

BTW: Don't we have a room reserved for tonight?

So was it any fun?
Those of us whose cars are too fast (and therefore banned from this event) are curious!

It was fun... until I broke my motor! Actually, it may not be all that broken, but it's making a funny noise now.

Eitherway, see for yourself how fun it was:

In-car footage is up in the gallery!

It was fun, it was fast, some people got faster, there were snakes.

There was some car carnage, and brake pads may be necessary for some people this week. I went off the runway backwards and earned some dirt and a runway light.

All in all it was a fun weekend.

Sounds like a good time.

I was busy pulling staples from my floor.
