Car: $.04 STI Class: Fast,Cheap & Reliable=STI Deal, did somebody say Deal? Oh, Dean, yeah that's me. | PDX / CT / TT july 19...

Well, it was warm, but a great day from a PDX perspective. Cody, Chris and I were the only Team SECCS regulars, though Vic ran CT in his STI and I think there was also Black STI that is not on my pre-reg list in either CT or TT... There may have been one more silver something, but I wasn't paying attention to TT and CT. No major incidents, but we did have a '99 996 Porsche having so much fun he overheated and went into super limp mode going up hoot an holler and and then push me behind a wall mode up on Sunset. Chris needs a use slightly less fuel map. He was eating it up so fast he had to fill up almost after every run group... I am a bit worried he is going to have an engine problem at that rate washing all the oil off the cylinder walls. He was looking pretty good by the end of the day until he "ran out of gas" as Cody was slowly reeling him in. His new title should be "Shifty" for downshifting before turn 1 for no apparent reason. Cody kept it on the track in turn 1 and improved a ton during the day. He found the brake pedal and then proceeded to find apexes amazingly enough. Watch out Nick if he translates that into Autocross. "Tap and turn" is his new mantra as well. If he learns to do it with his left foot, watch out!

Man, other than the heat and a fuel leak I still haven't figured out, that was the most educational and fun motorsports experience of my life! An enormous Thank You to Dean for his super helpful instruction. If anyone as noobish as myself can ever go to a PDX where Dean is lead instructor, I highly recommend you go and request Dean to be your instructor. PS: Other than the fuel leak, my car felt amazing out there.
