So, I have been working on installing my new alarm system today, and my problem is, that I can't figure out which wires are where and their colors. Does anyone know or have a link to any info regarding these wires?
I dont know if it's pertinent, but the alarm is the Viper 5091. Thanks, Chris

It did, but the Subaru specific wires are not shown.. Also, since it is "required" that a DEI installer install the alarm, they do not include much useful information.
Scott, thank you, I didn't even know we had that on here. Helped immensely!

So, I have decided that I am not as experienced as I thought I was. Does anyone have any good electrical experience? Or has anyone installed an alarm or remote start that would be willing to lend a helping hand??? I will supply beer (good beer) and food!!

What experience level are you looking for. I have installed a few dozen car audio systems but never an alarm.

I have installed multiple audio systems, but with audio, it tends to be pretty straight forward. With this alarm and remote start, I have to find each wire some require relays and diodes, my problem is that I need someone to help me find these wires, place relays and diodes, and interpret the directions, schematics, and etc. Even a little experience in the previous fields could be a potential help.

Newest Update.
Where do the diodes go? Where do the relays go? What diodes and relays do I need to use? I have read the Ultimate security thread on NASIOC, but not all of my questions have been answered. ![]() ![]() This is pretty helpful, but I am having trouble interpreting some of it. What/where is the N/O momentary switch, and how do I wire that part? What/where is the ECU B136 connector? Where are some good places to mount the siren? Where are some good places to mount the brain? When it says black/white to white, what does the "to white" part mean? What/where is the combo switch? And, when I multimetered the constant 12v, I noticed, it is only 12v when the ignition is in the on position. Is this correct? As always, thanks for the replies! -Chris

I'll answer what I know...
What/where is the ECU B136 connector? You need to find a pinout of the ECU harnesses, that will show which connector is B136. Where are some good places to mount the siren? Under the hood, somewhere that it can't be seen or reached easily, especially from under the car. Where are some good places to mount the brain? Hide it well somewhere inside, behind the glove box or gauge cluster or maybe behind the radio if there's room. What/where is the combo switch? The combo switch typically refers to the stalk with your headlight and turn signal switches. And, when I multimetered the constant 12v, I noticed, it is only 12v when the ignition is in the on position. Is this correct? Constant 12v should be just that, always reading 12v with the key on or off. |

So, I have decided to stop while I'm ahead and have a professional do the rest. Does anyone have any experience or know of any reputable shops in the Reno area?
