Air Race crash- anybody known to be there today? - Subaru Enthusiasts Car Club of the Sierras

Does anybody know if any members of our extended community here were present today?

My wife and kids were there, I had too many meetings. They were in the static displays area at the time of the crash, but had been in the pits and on the grandstand earlier. Thankfully they are OK.

Hopefully the same is true for anyone else here that was at the Air Races.

Interestingly enough, I heard about it first via amateur radio from hams that were working the races, and then my wife called.

John Evans, who many of us know through the SCCA, was in the box seats with his son and grandson but thankfully left about 40 minutes before the crash. At this point I am hopeful that no further news is good news for folks we all know.
