Hey,
I was told to go here by JC (AWD OWZ U). Anyways, I drive a DSM and I live in Reno. Maybe you guys have seen me around? Heres a pic of my car...

I've raced some WRXs.. I dunno if any were you. My friend drives a blue WRX with tinted windows - maybe you've seen him? I dunno, there are alot of blue wrx's with tinted windows around town. Anyways, you guys meet up every thursday night? You allow DSMs? Your not scared, are you

Hey man, welcome to the board!

That DSM wouldn't happen to have a wicked loud BOV, would it? I've been "psssshed" twice by a sick Eclipse down in South Meadows!

Either way, your ride looks pretty clean! I'd love to see it at the next meet! We usually figure out where we're meeting the Wednesday before the meet. The last two have been at the Cantina on S. Virginia, so I'm guessing the next meet will be elsewhere.

As far as blue WRX's w/ tint... my car's blue w/ tint!

And I know I've seen a bunch like it around town. These dang things are getting too popular! Makes me want to find a Talon TSI or an old Conquest.

I Don't see why the club would have a problem with your Ride.. After all they welcomed me with open arms.. And Yes, I am one of the guys like you that DOESN'T own a WRX, I own an '02 1.8T (RED) with an Aluminum Wing... I am not sure if you have seen it around town but Everyone in the Group enjoys the wing

Okay, history time!

The 1st meet was like what, more than a year ago? Somone posted on NASICO (then I-Club) about getting together in Reno. Some fellas got together over at Starbuck I think, I missed the meet, since I got emailed about it on an address that I don't check very often. Since I wasn't there, I'm not sure who showed up.

About a month later, another email went out. JC was the main man as far as organizing these. I met up at starbucks with JC, his buddy w/ the Brighton (whos name escapes me... I'm real bad at names...) Matt (MattR) and Ryan (SoulCrusher). I think it was just the 5 of us... was anyone else there... was Ty (Imprezton) at this meet?

A few months later, I was screwing around with my website, coding the image gallery, and I thought, "I should make a message board"! Well, after a day of work, I realized that coding a message board is a huge project so I just grabbed a copy of phpBB, and setup this forum. Since a few guys were using the BAIC forum over at NASIOC to try and plan Reno meets, and this was right aroud the time of the I-Club/NASIOC split, I offered the use of doink.net's forums for meet planning. We weren't sure if our group was big enough to get our own regional forum on NASIOC... in fact we weren't even sure if NASIOC was going to survive the split at all!

Since then (around Dec '02) we've slowly gathered new members from the area, mostly by word of mouth and a few posts over at NASIOC. We started having a few weekend meets about once a month. We had a couple parking lot meets over at Tamarack Junction.. tried taking an off-road run, but that was foiled by a big Ford Truck (check the Meet's Gallery) We had a fun day one weekend watchin the Initial D movie, and a bunch of Rally footage provided by Sergio (BOO).

Finally a few weeks back, Matt suggested having a mid-week evening meet. Going back to our roots

we had a Wednesday night Starbucks meet. Surprisingly, the turn-out was better than most the weekend meets we'd been having! It was suggested that we do this once a week, and Thursday seemed to be the best night for most people.

Since then we've had great turn-out each Thursday (usually about 8 cars, 10 people), and have started trying to mix it up with the locations, getting dinner somewhere. We try to pick the next meet location on Wednesday, so log on and vote!

I haven't raced anyone, but I've passed a green DSM going in the opposite direction that vented at me! (I'm not toally sure it was intentional... could have just been incidental) The 1st time was over by the apartments behind Burger King. I was waiting to turn left, and the DSM was making a right turn on the street I was on... I had my window open and that thing just PSSSHHT right next to my open window! Scared the crap outta me!

Yeah, it was prolly me. I vent everyone. If someones riding their bike down the street, Ill vent them.

Anyways, off the subject - There is 2fast 2furious commercial on right now... ....wow, I just think I saw a skyline flying.. this movie is going do be down right off the hizzle for shizzle my nizzle... sickness.

Hehe, I had a ton of cavities and my appointments are always on Thursday mornings. But its all done now, except for my wisdom teeth removal. I will be waiting to the last minute to do that.

He meant Art, as in ArthurS the first poster on this page. He just had his wisdom teeth pulled recently also. Welcome to our Internet club thingy that still has no name. Unless you guys decided and no one told me? We like all cars, so no hating on here from anyone. If anyone gets crappy on here, Scott will just remove them from the board and then we'll chase em down and beat them silly with rubber hoses. Oh wait, I think I just hated on haters.
