$50.00. for both sets, that's two sets of performance pads for fifty bucks.
These are brand new never been braked on. Both of these are for the fronts. These pads did not fit my calipers. They will fit the first run 03's and they fit 02's. I have a later run 03 which switched to the 04 caliper/pad sizing. -Tyson

The should fit your car, they don't fit late 03's or 04's. Sorry if my post was lame. I ordered these and then had to use some 04 pads MikeK lent to me.

As I understand it, most 03's that were made after June 02 have the same front calipers as 04's.
http://www.jscspeed.com/wrx/brakes/stoptech_stages1.htm I'll call the dealership with my VIN tomorrow to be sure.

Reds are OK at best on the street and very noisy. Good track pad though. Greens are great street and autocross, and OK for light track use.

I thought EBC's track pads were yellow. Maybe the confusion is caused by the fact that EBC reformulated all of their pads and supposedly fixed the problem where they ate rotors and dusted a lot. How long have you had these Tyson? Can you give me the part numbers or somthing please?

I believe there are EBC blacks that are "race" pads... so the red's aren't the worst possible street pad...
![]() MikeK, where are you on this man, I thought you used these on the street before or after a track day once and just about scared the shit out of yourself due to lack of col braking ability?

No yellow are race pads. There is a subtle difference. For the most part, when this group talks about track pads, we are talking about a for fun drive at the track mostly under control for 20 minutes at a time with cool a down lap and limited passing, etc. These conditions are completely different then a set of pads that can stand up to a 20 minute to 24 hour fender banging race, dive bombing corners, and eleven tenths all the time.
For $50 bucks, get them both, and run the greens and then when you are comfortable at a track and get the feel for HARD braking, throw the reds in for your second track event. These are $80-100+ a set pads. And yes, they changed compounds a little, but not enough to change what we have described. I've run both new and old reds, and would not reccomend them for street use in either compound especialy for winter use. They will work on the street, but they are very noisy, and alternate from no bite to massive bite depending on temp. Both are very aggresive and do wear rotors more compared to stock soft pads over time, but if you want good stoping, you have to realize that rotors are also a wear item, just like the pads.

I used the reds at last year's RFR track day. I also left them in the car after the track day. They held up really well at the track day, no problems at all. I also had steel braided lines and fresh fluid.
On the street, they were noisy, but not really very dusty. The track day was at the end of august, and I drove them on the street for the next 6 weeks. They were a little wooden feeling first thing in the morning, but not too bad ... I didn't really know why everyone was saying that you shouldn't run them on the street ... until mid october last year when it snowed for the first time. The temperature suddenly dropped, and I had NO brakes when the car was cold! It was scary, I actually ran a few stop signs before I got a chance to swap pads. No matter how hard I pushed on the pedal, I couldn't get the brakes to do anything unless I dragged them for a mile to heat them up. I would say definately consider the reds for a track day, but you are asking for trouble using them on the street. |

Progression of EBC compounds:
Grocery getting........................................... ....25 Hours of Thunder Hill ..............Green...........Red.........Yellow.. .......................Black............. This is a very scientific and specific description of the qualities of EBC pads. But here's all you need to know about them: They use Subie Gal as a technical reference...

Bummer, it sounds like they won't fit my car. The nice parts guy at Lithia told me my front pads were installed from July, 02-Dec, 02. The Subaru part number for front pads on my car is 26296SA000. Oh well, sombody will be stoked with these.
