The way out is through
Default FS: Slowboy GT30-10

Since my 2.0L blew up, and I've since gone to a EJ257 block, I switched to a TD05-20G turbo, so my old GT30-10 is for sale.

The turbo is a SlowBoy dual ball bearing GT30-10. I used it on my 2.0L very briefly (one solo trials event, during which the motor blew up due to an installation error w/ the fuel system), then I put a little over 1000 miles on the turbo breaking in my new block. The turbo has about 2000 miles on it max.

On my 2.0L motor, the turbo made about 260awhp on S-Squared's Mustang dyno at 18psi. On my race tune we only ran 16psi and made 240awhp. Slowboy thinks this turbo is good for 320+awhp with race gas on the 2.0L motor.

The turbo has fittings/lines for water, but just the fittings but no lines for the oil. Turbo is a "bolt on" turbo for the WRX or STi, however I'd suggest this for the 2.0L WRX crowd, rather than the STI crowd, unless you're looking for a kick-ass, no-lag, autocross turbo.

Here are the specs from SlowBoy's site:

There's copious data on the turbo if you search NASIOC and i-club.

New this turbo was around $1300. I'm asking $750 shipped to the lower 48.

Well then. Not even a reply.

I cancelling the sale. I'm gonna start the season on this turbo and see how bad it actually is, and spend the new turbo money on a cage and racing shells instead.

Okay, the turbo is for sale again. GST Mike pulled some strings and got me a rocking deal on a 20G which is the right size for my motor.

Price is reduced to sell... $750. Not a bad turbo for you 2.0L guys!

That's why they dropped it down to 240 for racing... the EGT's were a too high.

$400?!?! Holy crap, somebody with a 2.0l buy this!

Scott, put it on eBay and/or NASIOC if nobody bites. I got almost that for my VF39 with 15k miles. Hell, I'll do it for you - I have an eBay store and it's cheap to list it at a fixed price.

For any Forester XT or 2.5l-WRX guys this would be an instant-spooling upgrade and get you into the stage2-STI power range (with tune and supporting mods of course).

I had it listed on NASIOC at $750, and never got even a low-ball offer.

Frankly, I just want the turbo gone since I'll never use it, unless someone wants to front me the money to develop a turbo kit for the SVX.

I'm hoping a dirt cheap price will make someone local finally take the plunge into upgrading their turbo on a 2.0L. For some reason there are only a few Reno people that seem willing to step up to turbo swap levels of modding (not that I blame people for not doing it).

Actually Matt, you're pretty handy... wanna help me turbo the SVX?

Hell, if I was anywhere near being financially ready to swap my car, I'd be all over that like white on rice with a glass of milk on a paper plate in a snow storm!

Hell, if I didn't already have the WRX sucking my wallet dry, and if I had a solution for EM... I'd learn to weld, build a turbo header and downpipe for the SVX, slap this bitch on there, and see what a lagless 250whp SVX feels like.

See, having that turbo lying around my garage is a bad influence... which is why it needs to go!
