What's up guys. I was needing some answers to some questions about my car I had, and my friend recommended I come here. I have been watching the forums for a while, but I've never posted.

Well I'll keep it short I guess. I'm Jon, I have a '96 Impreza L which was given to me when I was 16, which puts it in my ownership for the last 3 years. Much to my dismay, I have almost ran it into the ground, but not quite. I am just starting to fix it up now and I kinda need help with where to find stuff.

These are what I've been having a hard time finding:
A Ver. 6 sti front bumper OR a 2.5rs front bumper
'00 or '01 impreza headlights

If I can I would like to try to find them off of the internet to avoid the expensive shipping. Thanks in advance for the help (I hope). Hope to talk to you guys more.

Those things are tough to find- lot's of '93-'97 Impreza owners are looking for them.

Welcome to SECCS!

There is a subaru wrecking yard in rancho cordova, they should at least have the headlights. Welcome to the club.

An RS bumper I think would be easier to find then a V6 bumper (at least, relatively inexpensively). I'd try a junk yard or potentially Subaru Specialists in Sacramento. They get wierd stuff like that in from time to time and have a good relationship with a recycler down there and might be able to pick something up for you cheaply (hopefully).

Yup, ive been informally looking for the headlights and corresponding hood for a while, to no avail.I would go straight down to sac for those. Also, Doesnt our type hood hang over the lights a bit? different shape ya know? Heard it will still work and will not damage the lights. Complete the look with the hood too if you can find one. Reno doesnt have much to offer, the sac place they mentioned above sound way more promising.

The hoodshape is slightly different. I can't remember if its 96 or 97 when the new design came out. Regardless, I've seen early 1st gen Impreza's fit late 1st gen Impreza hoods with no problem. There is a little gap, but its not significant.

I think I actually made up some cool picture/overlays a while back. I'll see if I can't dig them up.

EDIT: okay, here we go

99 WRC car right headlight

The 99 headlight with the shape of the 93 overlayed in pink

I found a site called SubaruParts.com (you wouldn't think it would be that hard to find with a name like that). They have stuff I can order, all kinds of stuff actually, but I think a nice drive down to Sac would be better.

That's an excellent site for bying new parts, but I hadn't realized you would consider brand spankin' new stuff. Pretty expensive that way, but it's the only way to get it done without waiting around forever. Plus you have to paint everything anyway. I can tell you exactly what the value is for those parts, I've had 2 different estimates written on my car for front end damage in teh last year.

Try giving subaruwrxparts.com a call, they are a dealer and the guy who runs the parts department is awesome.
