Default evo for sale

One of my chick friends asked me if i knew anyone who would be interested in purchasing her evo, I believe its a 2003 silver and is stock as far as i know. She said she wanted $20,000 for it. If there is any interest I can get all the details like trim level (i dont know if there were mr's then or not), mileage, work done and stuff like that. Let me know.

No offense man but buying a new car is fianancially an awful decision. You are much better off getting a well kept used car. I dunno how you feel about silver Tyson, but the car seems like a good deal. STis are always nice though.

JC is right. New cars are a terrible idea from a srictly financial perspective. the depreciation is terrible. Cars can loose up to 30% of their value in the first 1-3 years. That is a terrible investment. Let somebody else take that hit. a $20K '04 STI is a much better deal than a $30K+ new one.

Not bad? Unfortunately, none of the go fast parts will fit an '05.

It all depends on what you can afford to right off if you wreck it at the track. An instructor driving with another instructor in the passenger seat rolled and wrote off a $40K S4 on their first lap at RFR due to a simple error anyone can make.

Agreed re: depreciation. That said, sometimes in life you just want a brand new car that you can baby from the start.

I suppose your decision may also be swayed by what you want to do with it.
My blue rx8 had 300 miles on it when I got it; I don't think it was babied, and compared to my red one, it was a dud.

Sorry for off topic - Dean his insurance didn't cover? That sucks.

The only benefit of buying new with cars like these is you know they are fresh and yet to be abused. Sometimes it is difficult to see the amount of damage / abuse that may have occurred in high performance vehicles. I think $26K would be too high to not just buck up and buy new. I got my '05 with 8 miles on it for $29,500. There are deals out there just keep looking. The $20K evo sounds more along the lines of saving enough depending on the condition.

what color is it? I konw a chick in reno driving a Silver 03 rain the oil down to naddas and killed the motor.. Saw it at mitsu back when it was next to dodge getting alot of work done. Probably wouldn't be as strong after that. I hope its' not that one!

20k is a great deal.. if it's in good condition.. i'd definetly jump on it. reguardless of whether it was drivin hard or not.. as long as it was kept stock or stock + catback.. it's probably all right.. you could use the extra money and do some fix work.. e.g. a new head gasket, head refresh, brake pads, SS lines, new clutch, valve springs, retainers, etc.. and it'd still be less than what you were gonna pay.

Default I Think That is the one

I believe mitsubishi put a new motor and turbo in it under warranty, I will find out all of the details and make sure she has documentation showing all work done (warranty and other).

Hrm... that might actually be a good thing, provided Mistubishi did a good job with the install. You get a great price on a fast car, with a new motor!

...just make sure you get a warranty on that new motor in case something goes south. 'Course, being in a car club full of knowledgeable people, you'd be better off than most taking the "risk" of buying a car like this one.

The question I'd like answered is, what really happened to the car to break the motor? Did the previous owner really just run it out of oil being oblivious, or did she beat on the car, and why did she get rid of it, if the repair was covered under warranty?

I remember that car...it makes me feel bad for a car that is in the hands of somebody who doesn't know how to take care of it.

I don't even know what that means?

Do you want my lights, they are for sale.

Could you get your stocker lights replaced under warranty first though.

And my wheels would not fit an 04 STi, The +48 versions do but not mine. I don't think my coilovers do either, I need a different tophat I think.
