I'd suggest you get it Ceramic Coated before you install it to limit heat soak if you still have a TMIC.

Also you'll need to trim the stock turbo heat shield or buy an aftermarket one for the same reason.

Are you referring to the Invidia or the Crucial?

The Crucial is a shorty DP so you'd want to buy a "racepipe" (aka: midpipe and 3rd cat delete pipe) to go along with it. Crucial sells one of those as well that will bolt up to your Perrin CBE.

I'm not familiar with the Invidia.

Dude, he's asking about the Invidia, cool it with the Crucial. We know you like them, but he never even mentioned Crucial.

Yes, the Invidia DP will mate up perfectly with a 3" Perrin catback.

I'm going to go with Invidia, since you are the first person to mention a different companies name.

Yah, I know you guys like to play the nut swinging card every chance you get, but my only intention was helping out Renoguy. The rest of you can suck a dick.

Cody, all I'm saying is that you asking him if he's referring to the 2-piece Crucial design (you obviously have it in mind, while he's never mentioned anything other than wanting people's opinions on a specific Invidia DP) is confusing and doesn't help him in the slightest.

Why not post your own review of your Crucial parts in their own thread in the vendor/parts review forum, so that you add to the reviews in a more structured fashion? That legitimizes your opinions more than "I've never tried what you're asking about, try this instead." Then everyone can make their own informed decision based on relevant data in the appropriate place.

Holy shit, I just realized that I did bring up Crucial out of the blue. I confused this thread for the one where dude asked if Cobb has good stuff. I confused my first post in this thread withthis one. My bad.

I do have a little review of Crucial and EQ Tuning here.

To be fair, you brought up crucial out of the blue in the cobb thread too...

Dude, in that thread he asked for an opinion on Cobb, and I gave it to him. Cobb's parts are good, but you can get better for less money. I gave Crucial's exhaust parts as an example of this fact. I don't see the problem.

I was just pointing out that in the other thread you also brought up Crucial out of the blue when someone was asking about another vendors products.

Everyone, it's Cody's perogative to post his experiences with Crucial. So what if he likes a brand you don't use... the whole "nut swingers" thing is retarded, let it go.

Cody, feel free to represent for Crucial all you want, but don't spam other people's threads with unrelated product reviews. If someone asks "what do you think about X?" and you don't know anything about X, chances are that thread isn't in need of your opinion.

As far as the Crucial stuff in particular... I've never used it, and I've never seen it on any of the cars I race against. If it's really such great stuff, then it's a well hidden secret, at least locally. It's just been my experience that "well hidden secrets" last about 10 minutes in a competative environment... if you're faster than everyone, everyone figures out why tout de suite. So if everyone's running Cobb or Invidia instead of the Crucial stuff, I have to ask myself if there's a valid reason. Could it be that we're all brand snobs, and resist change? Sure. Could it be that the stuff we use is better than the stuff we don't use? Just as likely. If you're shopping for parts, you're just gonna have to do some research of your own and make your own decision... kinda like what the rest of us did.

All I know is that I'd turn my attention to those that are acually using these bits in the manner you intend to use them, and look towards the people that have tried a ton of stuff over the years. For example, I'll never run Skunk 2 coilovers on my race car because I've never seen them on a race car, and the racers that have gone through 10 times the different setups that I've gone through say they're garbage on the race track. However, if I were just looking to lower my car for cheap, and didn't care too much about rebuildability, ride quality, or performance, then I might as well save myself a chunk of change and go w/ some Skunk 2's if that's what people on the car show circuit are recommending.

Now I'm not implying Crucial DP's are the Skunk 2 coilovers of DP's. I'm just illustrating the process people should be going through when looking at aftermarket parts. If you're gonna ask people what you should buy, make sure you know how to evaluate the opinions of the people you're asking. And if you're being asked what works, just drop the facts. If you're going to recommend something, how about a reason why it's so great? Enough with the "my shit's better than your shit"... we'll see who's shit stinks less in the season standings come November.

I'm sorry. Me posting anything about Crucial in the Invidia Downpipes thread was big fubar on my part. As I've stated, I somehow thought I was replying to a new post in the thread where dude asked what we thought of Cobb stuff. I figured I was being a swell guy by sharing my knowldege that Cobb stuff is good, but there are better products for the money. I only mentioned Crucial to site an example.

If you're really interested, you can read all about the high quality thermal coating and Stainless Steel blah blah blah at their website.

The main reason I recommend them is because when Ed tuned my car, he was super impressed with my boost response and he attributed it to the Downpipe.

Hopefully I'm done explaining myself.
