Cory, just put a 4g63 in it.
Default thoughts on suction cup camera mounts for autoX

what are your thoughts on those suction cup camera mounts for using them to mount a video camera in or on your car for autoX can you pass tech with a camera mounted out side your car with a suction mount that is made for the specific purpose?

http://www.soloperformance.com/Defau...2&productID=52
kinda like that. i like the one from soloperformance for its price not gonna lie. I would like to be able to change the mounting position so thats why i am looking at these suction cup ones.

Deal, did somebody say Deal? Oh, Dean, yeah that's me.

How much is your camera worth? How good is your paint? Can you afford to buy a new camera?

As long as it has a tether, it will probably pass tech.

Personally, I'd prefer something that clamped into a door/hood seam or such in some sort of positive locking way, not just hanging on.

You can always go the Altoids tin route.

No, I won't work on your car. F* your car

Long as it can't go flying off the car, I'd say it'll prob. pass tech.

I was thinking about mounting a camera on the top of my car (when I finally got around to doing some racing). I figured I would stick it to the top and then run a strap through the back windows to hold it down. It seems like it would be easy enough to me.

You have to meet the solo rules. I'd recommend meeting the GCR so there's no question things are legal.

would the stand and the teather count as 2 points? its a cheapish camera. id put it on my windows not my paint except for maybe my roof. making the teather short enough to keep the camera from contacting the driver might be a PITA. little 6" teather ftw.

the soloperformance mount is rated for 75 lbs of holding power. the other one is rated at 175+ mph so i think they should be sticky. ill see whats up. might havea new mount to test out this weekend.

Run the tether, AKA strap, around the passenger headrest post or around the passenger B pillar.
