Default Had a new windshield put in friday....

So I've never had a new windshield put in any of my cars and had one put in by Brite Glass on friday. Just peeled the tape off today (been real busy working my first week of nights at Renown) and got a good look at it. I don't know if its standard or not, but they charged me for a new seal around the windshield and I don't believe they put one on. The outermost rubber is no longer flush with the body and they put some cracks in it removing/reinstalling it (car has 7500 mi, so it cat be that weathered yet). Its obviously the one that was removed. There are some old bugs on there still along with a little Zymol residue that proves it was reinstalled.

Now, I'm no auto glass genius, but unless that seal is under the outermost one, they A) charged me for a part they didn't replace, or B) replaced it, but the outer seal isn't sitting like it used to and looks kind of like dogsquat.

The line it makes across the roofline is no longer straight and the edge sticks up looking like its ready to gulp water.

Is this normal, am I being too retentive? Or did they do a shoddy job.

Dont mind the bugs, those are fresh.....damn I need to get out the fly rod because they are whats hatching on the Truckee now near Floriston.

Looks like crap to me. Judgement: shoddy installation.

Good enough for me. Off I go to not-so-bright-glass. $325 worth of dogsquat.

Holy shite that's expensive! My last windshield was done at Fast Glass on Greg St in sparks, it was about $190.

+1 Fast Glass did my old truck, and IIRC they came out to my house to do it.

From the looks of my installer, they'd be more scared if I said I'm from the meth task force.

Cool. They fixed it up nice. OEM moulding more expensive than the one they charged me for. They apologized profusely and gave me some window cleaner and hard water stain cleaner. It was expensive, but it turned out flawless in the end.

Glad to hear it. At least somebody cares about customer service.

Or else they care about not having this 'slip up' get out.
This happened on Mark's car last year, can't remember which glass company, but they charged for the seal, and it was easy to see (same issues- didn't fit right, bugs still on the rubber) they re-used the old seal. Scam?
Good the hear this feedback, my takeaway is:
Good Guy - Fast Glass
Bad Guy - Brite Glass
