Thumbs up Fishing In Alaska!

Well some of you may know that I was up in Alaska for the last 5 days fishing with my family and some friends. Between My Dad, Mom, Brother, Me, My friend and my Brother's friend, we brought back home just under 500lbs of filleted Halibut, Rock Fish, Salmon, Black Cod, and Flounder! It was a blast. The best pictures are at the bottom of the post but you have to let the tension build a bit so look at them all!

Now the pictures:

My Brothers halibut:

My Cousin's halibut:

Rockfish I caught, a girlie wanted a swordfish so I had to improvise:

Dad's Silver Salmon:

From left to right, My cousin, Brother, brother's friend, my friend and Me. Black Cod, We caught 21 of them that day. You fish them with electric reels. They are about 1500-2000 feet deep:

Brother's Friend's halibut:

Cousin's Silver Salmon:

My Brother, My Friend, Our skipper and I after a day of salmon fishing:

Last but definatly not least, My dad set the Lodge Record for the largest halibut Caught in the history of the lodge at a huge 291lbs!!!!!!!!!!!! To compare size my dad is 6'3"!

His skipper when he caught it. He claims he did half the work and the skipper did they other half with his positioning and driving the boat while he had the fish on.

Me giving the fish a dental exam:

There will be more pictures later of action shots and what not.

To view pictures from the whole lodge and previous seasons check out this website. The lodge is great, love the staff the location everything, if your thinking of a trip like this check them out.
To find pictures from our week go to 2008 season -> July 30th group and thats us.

I lived up in Anchorage for 4 years and it's amazing the size of the fish they pull up there. Some guy caught a halibut over 400 lbs but It couldn't be set towards the record becuase he used a gun on it.

That fish is insane! You could stuff a human inside it and have a halibut human coured on blu.
Inject it full of cheese just like the deep fried cow in the "woods" episode of ATHF.
