...by buying my SVX and/or WRX!
I'm not really trying hard to sell my cars, but I'm getting tired of owning vehicles that I have to work on and I want something new off the showroom floor, so I'm just putting the SVX and WRX out there in case anyone wants to make me an offer. (Pictures to come later.) 1994 Subaru SVX LSi AWD Barcelona Red, Tan/Beige interior, 220,000 miles and counting The car is in excellent condition, especially considering the mileage. I've done a ton of maintenence/restoration work (but no real "mods"), replacing all the stuff that tends to go out on these cars, and doing the 4.44 tranny swap from a legacy plus a tranny cooler that seems to fix the biggest issue with the SVX which is the constantly failing gearbox. The car rides well, pulls hard, and is probably the nicest example of an SVX on the road today at any price. Work done since I bought it in 2004: - 4.44 '96 Legacy transmission (freshly rebuilt with new transfer clutch & solenoids) - 4.44 LSD rear-end - Perma-Cool transmission cool in the fender - Remote transmission oil filter - New OEM window switches, both driver and passenger doors - New (remanufactured) brake calipers, rotors and pads on all 4 corners - New stainless steel brake lines on all 4 corners - Complete repaint in factory color - '97 OEM front grill - SmallCar clear headlight/corner marker lenses - Hella SuperTones mounted in the grill - Alpine stereo/iPod interface/XM radio/subwoofer/amp - DEI keyless entry/remote starter - Beltronics remote radar detector (laser detector/jammer in the grill, radar receiver behind the bumper, display mounted on the instrument cluster) - 400W power inverter in the trunk for 110AC power - New OEM radiator - New (remanufactured) alternator - New (remanufactured) front axles - New hood struts - New O2 sensors - New OEM MAF sensor - New TPS stepdown resistor - New OEM windshield - New Bosch battery - Added starter solenoid relay - 17x9" Enkei RPF1's w/ 255-40-17 Falken ST115 tires (~20% tread left) - OEM wheels w/ 225-55-16 Dunlop Wintersport M3 tires (~20% tread left) Known issues with the car: - It looks like the passenger side cam seals are leaking a little oil, so it's probably time to do the front seals on the motor, the timing belt, and perhaps the water/oil pumps while in there. (I'd be happy to take care of this work for a potential buyer if they'd like.) - The exhaust's cats need replacing... they rattle and buzz a bit when cold from being loose in the pipe. But they still work well enough that the car passes NV smog w/o any issues (sniffer test for OBD-I cars). Doesn't seem to be causing any issues, it just sounds mildly annoying right after a cold start. - I also thought I was having an issue with the transmission not shunting power to the rear wheels, but I think the issue is actually just the added torque of the 4.44 final drive making it easier to spin the inside front tire than before and not a lack of power aft. I had it checked out by Cory and he opened up the transfer clutch and saw nothing wrong. - There's some minor wear on the driver's seat leather and the alcantera on the driver's door card. Plus a tear on the rear seat near the rear deck, and a tear by the hinge on the center console storage bin from the previous owner. - The rear view mirror is not exceptionally tight and the night-tinting switch is misaligned. I'm asking $6,000 for the car, and that includes both sets of wheels/tires. 2002 Subaru WRX, TT-2/ITE Trials/Race Car World Rally Blue, ~60,000 miles (<1000 on the new motor) The car is finally sorted out, with all my motor issues fixed just in time for me to be too fed up with the cost of racing it to want to actually use it. ![]() Here's the current build of the car: Chassis/Interior 2002 WRX Shell, clean VIN, GST Motorsports 8-point Showroom Stock legal roll-cage Walbro 255 fuel pump (feeds the swirl can) GST Motorsports fuel swirl can Bosch motorsports inline fuel pump SS Braided fuel delivery line Optima Yellow Top battery, trunk mounted RaceTech 4009WHR driver's seat w/ slider bracket RaceTech 4009W passenger's seat w/ slider bracket RaceTech harnesses (driver & passenger) Mesh Window Nets (driver & passenger) All airbags removed I/O Port roll-cage video camera mount RacePak G2X GPS Lap timer/mapper/dash display Sparco 65mm dish steering wheel, w/ quick release Steering wheel lock disabled AMB X260 transponder Defi BF-R gauges (boost, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, EGT) LC-1 Wideband O2 Sensor w/ digital display in-dash Rear seats removed, replaced w/ aluminum trunk seperator EDM Bug-Eye projector headlamps JDM STI grill & fog light covers Jacking rails welded to both front jacking points Reinforced engine cross-member Suspension/Steering Tein SuperRace double adjustable coilovers (w/ lowers for both 2004 and 2005 hubs) 2005 STi Hub Conversion (5x114.3 P.C.D.) Car is currently registered and insured in Washoe County. The Bad - Pretty much nothing really. The car is actually sorted. I'm a retard for selling it now that it's together. - It's still got a lot of interior, putting the wet weight at 3,000 lbs. You could probably tear another 100-200 lbs out of it with some work. The Ugly - Still has some minor damage on the left side from an incident w/ a fence. Most the damage was repaired when the LF fender was replaced. - Needs painting of the front bumper, hood, and left side panels to be pristine. I estimate it would cost nearly $50,000 to buy a shell and build this car (and I wish that was all I spent building it). I also estimate that I should be able to part the car out for over $24,000 if I was willing to go through the hassle of finding buyers for everything. So I figure an asking price of $20,000 for the car is a smoking deal. I'm sure many people will disagree, so I'm willing to take offers, but low-ballers will be laughed at and publicly humiliated. PS: I'll throw in my 18' steel-deck dove-tail trailer w/ winch for $2000.

Jesus Scott. I love that car, if I had the money, I would probably jump on it. IMO you should part it out, because I know many people on the forums would be interested in many of your parts (including me). Keep us updated, and good luck with the sale.

Parting the WRX out would take a ridiculous amount of work and time. I'd much rather sell it to someone that's looking for a complete race car so I don't have a picked over WRX carcass in my garage for the next two years.
