Default CHEAP Castrol Syntec!!

Just got home from Costco in Sparks, they had 6qt. boxes of 5w30 for $20. They had about 20 cases left. They also had about 5 cases of 2 gal. prestone AF left for $5, that's a screamin' deal!!!

I only seen 5w30, no 0w30. Curious how the 0w30 would work with the STi...
If you do run the 0w let me know how well it works.

Just wanted to say thanks for the heads up on this. I just picked up 3 cases of 5w30, there is still at least 10 cases left. I also picked up a box of the Prestone last week, but that appears to be sold out now. Can't beat full synthetic for $3.32 per quart!

Too bad the prestone is already gone, that's an even better deal than the oil. $5 for 2 gals and a gal of bugwash. Hell, I think reg price even at walmart is over $10/gal.

I'm considering a new regimen of going to Autozone for German Castrol and Purolator Pure One Filters. I have been doing Royal Purple and OEM filters for a long time but the new OEM filters made by Honeywell are supposedly crap. Also If you get a Pure One for bugeye fitment, it's identicle to the larger white OEM filters that were available when my car was new, the big white ones, except the P1 has texture for easy removal. They moved to the smaller size to prevent heat absorption from the headers, but mine are heat wrapped...

Edit: Actually I think Pep Boys is the only place in town that carries Purolator...correct me if I'm wrong.

Papboys? Get your pap in 15 minutes or less!

I can confirm that Pepboys has the P1's. That's where I got the one that's on my car right now. I just was wondering if they're available at Autozone because it'd be great to pick up German Castrol and a P1 all at once.

Right, Autozone has the GC, but do they have the P1. That's the only question I have. I don't think they do. Two stops FTL, but I don't know of a better combo out there.
