Well there is a new set of rotors, pads, and brake lines. I would also like to sand my calipers and paint them. So...I was thinking we could invade Matt's house =P. That's if your up for it of course Matt. I would pay a good chunk of money for the time too ^_^. So whatchya think?

Next weekend is auto-x, so that's out.

Brakes are one of the easier things to work. Not a lot of moving parts. The worst thing about brakes is bleeding process. Do you happen to pick up some speed bleeders for your calipers?

Nope, not in a hurry so no worries. My brakes won't even be shipped tell next week. So once I get them we can setup a time and day =). I will buy some speed bleeders so we will be set. I am thinking there will be lots of pizza and beer(on me of course...cept youll have to buy since im underage )

Oh yeah...and what bake pads should I go with if I don't want to deal with too much dust...because white wheels+brake dust=retarded.

I used to be a big speed-bleeder fan, but I'm changed my mind.

They're great when they're new and the stuff they put on the threads keeps a tight seal.

But once they're used a bit, the thread compound wears out, and you end up sucking air w/ 'em unless you've got a friend to help you bleed the old fashioned way. And hell, if you're gonna do it w/ help anyway, you don't need speed bleeders.

IMO, the only reason you need speed bleeders is if you need to bleed the brakes alone inbetween sessions at a track day or something, and then you need to make sure you replace the speed bleeders at least once a year, or more often if you use them frequently.

When I painted my Volks white I went with Axxis Deluxe Plus on the recommendation from a friend at Stoptech. They were pretty good for me in my 4 pots. Zero dust, no noise, never faded them although I didn't push them super hard. I did coast down the back side of Mt Rose highway once a week without using the engine to slow... at least I did until I only made the trip up the hill and not down a few weeks ago. Anyways, the Deluxe plus are great cheap, non-dust, non-noisy pads, but also get a set for dedicated track/autocross/hard driving days since you will probably fade them and make them useless pretty easily with that kind of driving. For that I used Stoptech Club Spec pads, and I loved them. One set lasted me 2 track days, a bunch of autocrosses, and had lots of life left still. They bit well cold and hot and I never got a hint of fade. They were pretty dusty and noisy when cold (mildly warm actually was worst) but that can be said about any decent performance pad really.

Ok, so an update: No speed bleeders will be ordered. I still need to choose a brake fluid to use. But those rotors pads sound right up my alley. There will be much pizza(Im thinking 5 mediums). What kind of beer do you all drink cause that needs to be there too for you guys =P.

That shit's the bomb, but probably not cost effective unless you're really punishing the brakes. For half the price, I'd suggest ATE superblue or ATE typ200.

If you're worried about the thread sealant wearing off, just take out the SB, wire brush off the old stuff and put some new sealant on.

Keep in mind the rotors are black brembos. How could I get a hand on these said brake pads(Axxis deluxe plus), fluids(Im going with ATE), and high temp paints needed for calipers.

Ok, so the custom rotors are in and will be put on soon (Matt willing of course). What kind of sandpaper should I buy and where should I buy it(for the calipers). I decided I am going with black on black for the color. Oh...and do you guys mind if we change teh sparky plugs too(heard they are a pain on the SVX...not to mention I am a little nublet anyway)? And then if we could change to my winter wheels. Anyway. There shall be beer and pizza regardless of how much gets done.

I've never done the plugs on an SVX, but on the WRX it involves removing stuff like the airbox, sprayer bottle, and battery. Probably the same deal on the SVX with the addition of the coolant overflow tank, and both fender liners, since you need to get the two rear plugs though a hatch in the wheel well.

In addition you're gonna need like eleventy-billion different socket extensions to get a wrench on those buggers. And some latex gloves to put inbetween the socket junctions to make sure they don't come loose, 'cause if they do it'll be a nightmare to get 'em out of the motor.

Then scratch the sparks, I will hit those up at he same time as my stage III(if it ever gets finished). Anyway, I had to send back my front rotors, so I won't be ready yet again =/.
