My buddy is in the market for a new job something full time, possibly with tuition reimbursement. Right now he owns his own distribution company and with all of his overhead and stress the job is not cutting it. He was thinking possibly Western Nevada Supply. Just curious what you guys know about that and the reno job market.

			Yeah, mad skills

Seriously, he isn't looking for a career, just a job to help pay accrued bills while going back to school in mechanical engineering. As far as skills, it is mostly business related, merchandising, computers, inventory tracking and what not. He can also weld but not certified. |

WNS is a good place to work if he's doing the school thing.

I would highly reccommend WNS. I drove a delivery truck for them during my last 1.5 years at UNR. They have a tuition reimbursment program that served me well. If your friend is a hard worker with a good attitude and lots of snap, he might find WNS to be one of the "best" places to work ever. I was so sorry to leave that job --- it seriously was the most enjoyable place I've ever been employed. If he already has experience with business, he's got a leg up on asking for his price. They like students there, too.

How to get in, that's a good question. There is always the ability to swap departments and positions once employed, so the starting job really doesn't matter. I liked shipping, just because there was never space for BS, and the job was fast-paced. With a good reference as to his work quality, I don't see a problem with asking $12+ to start.

I've seen plenty of wearhouse (sp?) jobs around in the 11-12 dollar range. Most often they are along the forklift driver range, thus needing an operator's license, but a few that are just order picking and shipping/receiving, which is major boring shit, but a paycheck none the less.

In other departments that really need people bad have openings to put stock away, which is opening boxes and putting items into a bin. It is boring, it starts at $9.44 but after 7 months you can get to $15.65 and it's still easy(I used to do it). The hours in the other deparments vary. Tyson PM me for details.
