Lets see, I have one friend that been over there for about 4 months. He's part of the Nova program, which you can't do on the side.

Another friend went over in Feb of last year, stayed till December, and is going back mid-September for indefinite. He was teaching middle school english and tutoring on the side and was making some good cash, but I don't know how much in dollars (he himself said he didn't know, because he never too the time to convert Yen to Dollars). Aparently there are plenty of opportunities for white guys to tutor Japanese housewives.

Yeah, I just want to tutor, not really teach. Maybe for an hour or two a day or every-other day. Im just a college student and I bet some people charge a shit load in Japan to tutor english, I'll just offer half-price.

Yea, what he said.

While you're continuing your studies, keep throwing nihongo at us, it'll be good practice.
And, seriously, you're going back over?

dekkei masu is something like, go, or in this context, go for it. She suggests you should go for being a teacher (tutor).

Right, I understand a little.
