Oh, I saw that same STI the other day that had the FMIC. It's silver, and it was being driven by Mom with her ~5 year old son. It's a REALLY nice STI. Anyone know who this could be?

Sounds like the wife of one of our members (his name's Matt IIRC, I can't remember his handle on the board). Car has a cool hood scoop delete, no?

No, this STI has a really nice FMIC, silver. Prolly the coolest STI I've seen in Reno.

Matt's STi was trashed last fall in a crazy freak highway accident. Apparently a large shard of fiberglass or some such flew off of a truck and landed right in his engine bay, shredding most of the front end and FMIC. He said that by the look of the damage, it would have skewered him in two if it had gone through the windshield.

I talked to him just a few days after it happened and he said he couldn't stand to post about it on the board, so I never said anything. I haven't talked to him since, so I'm not sure what became of it. It's possible that he got it all repaired.

Yes that was the accident that happened to me on freeway last october

took out my front end and FMIC from a piece of vinyl fence flying off a truck and going over the center divider. Truck was going southbound i was going north. Freak accident as the piece hit my car on the fly and tomahawked my fron end without touching the ground.

I saw a blue WRX in line behind me at the South Meadows Wendy's drive-thru today around 1pm. I'm only mentioning it because they bounced their motor off the rev limiter a few times trying to get my attention or something. Car was dirty, a little beat-up, lowered, stock wheels, exhaust, dark tint, and had some red/white square sticker on the trunk lid.

I'm assuming they recognized me, simply because it's rare to see a WRX owner acknowledge an SVX.
