Got damnit! Where's that shocked face when I need it!

At any rate, when I said "people", I ment the worlds car enthusiast population, not just seccs. But even then, I'd still put my money down and say more people on this board, if given the opportunity, would choose "rice boy's" wrx over Tim's car - dispite what you guys are saying now.

But Tim, your car would represent a "clean" car that has taste. It's upgrade, new hood and what not, but still looks like it could have come from the factory. A thumbs up in my book.

Kevin, how is it in a poor mechanical state? It could be just as perfect as it is poor. It better not be with the price tag he put on it. I noticed the upgraded internals. I never said the turbo he has on it is poor - I've personally been in a car with the same turbo that has 280whp on pump. But if he were to put a 50trim, or one of the new "GT" bb turbo's on that, it would scream. And in no way that car is slower around a test track than Tim's N/A. I garantee if you put the stig in both those cars, the wrx would have the faster time.

Oh, and seccs is the only car club that I'm aware of in Reno that has intelligence, and intelligent things to say. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else

I was referring to the current set of mods, I never said it was in bad shape. I would actually venture to guess that it's in pretty good shape mechanically given all the recent work. I'm just saying that an RS with good suspension is faster than a WRX with stock brakes and suspension around a track regardless of the motor. Trust me on this.

Okay, so I couldn't leave this stuff alone after all. First, sayign "putting a decent turbo in" implies the current one is less than decent, at best. Second- "50 trim"? What turbo exactly are you referring to, because that's like saying he should put some +48mm offset wheels on his car. Third, about the "BB" turbos... uh, no, the smallest ones are good for barely 270 crank horsepower, even if I assume you meant the new GT turbos (which are not all even that new, and use 3 different basic designs/terminology. Garrett's marketing screwed the pooch on that) and not the old updated center section turbos normally known as T2/3/4. And like I said, good drivers would go around RFR or Thunder Hill faster in Tim's car than supastar's given equal tires.

Yes, it would imply that, but I didn't say that:

I'm sure you wouldn't disagree with me on that.

I'm referring to the size of the compressor wheel (air per min). 50 trim's would be something like the FP Green or something of that nature. To be honest with you, I just used it as an example of a "big" size turbo.

The turbo I was refering to was the VF30 that is installed on his car. And the VF34 is the same turbo, just with roller bearings, right?
http://www.seccs.org/forums/showpost...&postcount=253

And the GT turbo's have been making some noise lately. With the 900+whp Evo, high horse power STis, and 10 Second Pump Gas DSMs

I dont doubt a less powerful car being quicker around a track than more powerful cars. The NSX is a great example.

I would take Tim's RS over that Worx. Oh wait I am. But seriously I would probably take almost any 99-01 RS over any bugeye, but that is just me. I've always loved the GCs and IMO, bugeyes just aren't as cool. I mean they are the least Impreza-like cars of all generations, well in terms of it's appearance.

But that is what keeps the car world diverse, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yes, EDM headlights call to me like Sirens in the night, but I know I'll never find a pair cheap enough for me.

My new tinted sidemarkers are pretty trick though. Thanks Tyson.

Sure I do. The Cobb AP/ST is a great engine management for a mildly modded Subaru, far superior to the complicated and under-supported AEM. If you want a standalone in a Subaru, the Hydra is by far the best option IMO. It was the lack of custom tuning that I was taking issue with on his car regarding his claims that it was faster than a stock STi.

No, trim refers to the ratio of inducer to exducer size on a compressor, not the physical size. It has nothing to do with the rated airflow of a turbo. You can have a very small turbo in terms of airflow that has a .50 trim. I knew you were talking about larger turbos like the Green, but you used the wrong terminology for your example is all.

You specifically said 'GT "bb" turbos' actually. But yeah, a VF34=VF30 with updated center section.

Again, of course there are large GT turbos, but your reference to them didn't exclude the smaller ones. You lumped them all together.

Uh, you did doubt it. You said that The Stig would go faster around a track in the dorifto rex than in Tim's car.

I think the stig would get a better time in the drifter's wrx than Tim's car... no doubt in my mind.

Did you guys check out that all-pump 10 second 2g?
