Sweet, if I only knew more about corvettes last weekend, I would have had his results thrown out.

So, now lets discuss my tires. Do you all think I can run them on one more event? Kevin thinks I can. But I am not sure.

You can legally run 'em 'till they're corded. Though I don't know why you'd want to, as a new set (that you're gonna need real soon anyway) will be an assload stickier than a set of heat-cycled, nearly bald, old ones.

True Dean, but you'll cord the shoulder before you have zero depth across the center 50% of the tire (well, unless you only drive on the freeway and run 70 psi all the time).

Not true with a decent alignment and propert pressure and not overdriving the bloody corners.... Look at my Hankooks, and I ran them at 35PSI hot. 0-2/32" left, and shoulders are OK.

My question had nothing to do with the rule book. I guess I should have made that a little more apparent. I was looking for opinions based off of the knowledge that you all have about worn out tires. Scott's answer is more along the line of what I was thinking. So, he answered the question properly.

I already knew my tires were ok via the rule book, I just didn't know if they were the best thing for me to run at the next autocross.

So I thought you were asking a rule question about your tires, when it was a safety/traction/should I question.

I think 215s, 615s, and RE070s should do OK until the are corded. I even flipped 215s before to wear the insides even though they are asymetrical.

Are they as sticky as when new, no, but unless they have been heat cycled at the track many times, they probably aren't that bad.

I'm not saying you'll always wear the shoulders excessively, I'm just saying that when you cord 'em, you'll probably cord 'em on the shoulders. I've had great wear on my tires and terrible wear on my tires, but never have I had a ton of wear right down the center while the shoulders were still in great shape... the only way to do that is drive w/ too much air pressure in a predominantly straight line for a long time.

for a imperfect alignment, I agree, but with a really good setup, you will cord the face first. The rubber thickness at the shoulders is often much deeper than on the face of the tire. I have corded Victorracers, Ecstas, and R1As on the face on two cars. the hankooks are headed the same way.

I also just corded a set of 215s at the shoulder.

I'm just saying that a well setup car should wear pretty evenly, and that you can cord tires in many places. Inner face about an inch off the inner shoulder is likely with high camber settings like you are running.

2 day combined results are up on the Reno SCCA web site . Mike Sent them to me, and I missed/lost them.
