Snowboarding....Because gravity is cheaper than gas
Default What happened to my car at the April 23 Auto-X and need some oil help

Hey guys, Just thought I would drop a line in and tell you what was going on with my car. I brought it to the dealer that monday and Michael Hohl said that it was just excess coolant burning off from when they changed out turbos. However, 2 days later the car put out a huge cloud of smoke which was ridiculous again and the CEL is now back on. I'm heading beack down on Fri so they can once again take a look at it. He says I should get rid of the car and I agree, so I am going to be putting the car up for sale for $17,000 as he recomended me to do. I'm probably going to get an old Rs and convert it, possibly into a rally car.

On another note, for those of you who met Liz (my gf). She is looking to get 11 Quarts of Ams-Oil for an oil change for her diesel truck. Does anyone have a hook-up or know where we can get some cheap?

Does it have to be Ams-Oil or would good synthetic like Mobil 1 work? If so, Khail can probably hook up some oil for you.

Bummer about the car man, but good call on the replacement. Just don't rally an actual RS. There aren't enough of those to go trashing one so senselessly.

Why convert it into a rally car?

I wouldn't want to do a whole lot of rally driving in a 2.5 in this area. I wouldn't think that the car would last very long. But battle damage is cool!

If you put enough beef in the suspension it will last for a while.

You should see the long-travel setup my neighbors are building into their off-road truck... it makes this picture look like a Yugo.
