Default RE-01R's on closeout at tirerack

FYI...

I just bought some 245's for $116 each from the tirerack. Looks like they are on closeout right now!

Damn... according to the guy I just talked to, there are no RE01Rs in any 17" size left.

Holy crap... 255/40/17's were $79/ea!?!?!

That's only $200 per tire cheaper than the Sport Cups.

Wait, why are they selling them at close-out prices if there's a big shipment of them coming in?

And Matt, if they do have some 255/40/17s when you call, I'll pay you cash if you can add 4 to your order for me at $79/ea!! I know there's no way I'll be able to screw around on the phone ordering tires tomorrow morning.

No Problem man, I'll order 8 if I can get that 79 Price. I'll call you if there's some variation in price...

Also, as far as a truckload coming in...often times suppliers are committed to PO's or batches well in advance, this could be a final push from Bridgestone. I'm hoping that's the case...I'll call early tomorrow.

Sweet, thanks man! Those 255's will stack nicely with the unmounted 245's I bought almost 2 years ago that I still got sitting in my garage.

The 245 RE01Rs are going on the SVX if I can get 255's for cheap.

Something like this,
I first tried ordering them from my iphone on the webpage=sold out
I then called Luke and left a message. Being impatient and not wanting to miss a great deal I called again and spoke with Arnold who told me current stock is sold but there are some that will be arriving on the 6th, They were told to put us late callers/buyers on a backorder list. Arnold said I had my dibs in on the first 1/3 or so of the lot coming so I should be good. Luke returned my call maybe 30 minutes later and said if my order was already in that I'm good to go. Haven't billed my card yet, they won't until they ship.

OKay, I just got impatient too so I called and spoke to Austin at 746. He says there is an order due in Friday 3/6, but the 255's will not be a part of the remaining shipments. So no more 255's He did however say that there are 245/40-17 available so I went with those. (That size was good enough for me last year ) They will call me when they arive...still gave me the $116 pricing so I'm stoked...

255/40R17 sold out again, 245/40R17 still available. $501 picked up at the warehouse.

Vendors and distributors will usually be trying to push an outgoing product line at a big discount to clear out inventory and make room for the new product, especially when the product has a shelf life. They may have gotten a great price on the last re01rs, cut there own profit margins and in turn have had a huge quantity of tires sold in one day. No big markup but the money was made in the volume?
maybe

That sucks that the 255's are gone... $80/tire is a retarded low price for some big ass meats! 245/40's are what I've already got sitting in my garage... IIRC, they're as wide as most other brands 255's.

I want 255/35/18's - but they were sold out on the web at 6:30 this morning - I'll call tomorrow and see if I can still get on a list.

Killer deals, but I don't think I'll need tires for 12 months.

I'll probably be regretting not buying some of the RE01Rs saw this special but just got some used autox tires so hopefully they last me a season.
