Hmm, I know I offered to help at the last meet, but I won't be able to (unless you want to wait an extra week).

Good luck,

Hey Guys...We finished the fronts no problems...We had to do one over cause we didn't align things correctly, but it got late, so we went and got food.

I'll do the rear spring tommorrow night.

So far, first inpressions...WOW...the front end feel so much more connected, turn is is way sharper and quicker...and that's with the stock rears on still... I think this thing's going to rock...It doesn;t look all that much lower, but that's no big deal...

How do you install springs "correctly"?

It's all done...Rear's went smooth. Upon initial test drive...I fricking love it. The turn in is crisp, steering is more responsive. The springs and tops also dialed out a TON of body roll, and brake dive. Overall , I'm very happy. I can;t wait to push it a bit harder and get a real feel for it.

Anyway, I put the black wheels on like everyone requested, sorry its so dark...and if you look real close, you'll see a randon red SVX in my driveway...

Looks good Matt. What do you estimate was your total install time for the front and rear?

Is the spring wire diameter larger on the new ones? From just looking at the picture they appear to be the same free length and have the same number of coils...

Austin, they are indeed very similar to the stock set up. The spring rate is 20% stiffer, and they are about 2 inches shorter (in material) and sit about 3/4 inch shorter than stock, it is really hard to see in the pictures. The spring rate seems to make the huge difference here, We looked them up last night, I cant remember what exactly they are, but noticeably stiffer rates. Like Scott said, they should have been the springs the car came with, but they are a nice stepping stone in between stock and coils.

Well, all the parameters I was noting are what determines the rate of the finished spring; # of active coils, length, wire diameter, inside diameter, etc., you can calculate it pretty easily... that's why I was asking.

Same wire thickness and coil diameter. I think the same number of coils, just shorter spacing. The new springs are listed on a reliable Subaru info site as 257lb./in. front, 190 rear, but the rears are progressive. Like Matt said, about a 20% increase.
