Default up pipe gutting

anyone ever gutted a up pipe? what affect does this have on smog? Any performance diffrence?

I gutted an uppipe...Never got to install it though...It's a total pain is the ass, make sure you get all the shit out before bolting it on...otherwise, its a really good idea, stock look with performance.

how is it a pain..trying to get it all out of the pipe taking it out or installing it??
