Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once
Default Thinking about moving.

Well guys, I have been thinking about this for a while now. Expecially since I now have some sort of Custody arraingement with my son. Most of you all met him at the last Thursday night meet.

Anyway, long story real short. My divorce has been finalized and my ex is willing to move closer. The consensus is Chico Ca. for a couple pf reasons. One being I was going to Chico State University before and I can get back in according to my cousin who works at CSU Chico. The second reason is that I can still work for the Architect in Tahoe. He doesn't care where I am located, just that I get the projects done. Third reason, Reno is still a hop skip and a jump away from Chico.

So, I started doing some research on SCCA racing events down that way, low and behold Thunderhill is like 20 miles from Chico. So, other then Thunderhill, does anyone here know of any club (Solo2) racing events in the Chico / Oroville area?

I don't know of any autocrosses at THill, but they have Rally cross (off road) events, and tons of track days. Sacramento valley is lacking in autocross venues, that's why we get so many visitors in Reno. Also, I know there are a few Chico are Subaru people on I-Club in the SRIC section, they would have the best info on what goes down in Chico... Good luck on the decison man.

Yeah, except Sac actually runs their events in Stockton which is 2-3 hrs away from Chico.

Yeah, in the past 3 years, the Sac chapter has had one event in Sacramento.

Don't judge me unless you got a better answer! :-}

Maybe there is a hunk of asphalt in Chico waiting to be found...

Not doing any judging here Dean, just stating some facts about the Sac chapter.

Also, quite a drive, but there are plenty of SCCA and American Auto-x events at Atwater.

Yeah, go to either of their malls. Those places are dead

Chico is ok, I have a lot of family there so I'm out there all the time.

Does it sound like to anyone else I should start a Chico Chapter of the SECCS?

Speaking of the mall in Chico, there is a section of the parking lot next to Outback Steakhouse that is almost always empty.

Last year there were almost as many rally-x events at Thunder Hill as we had weekends at Stead... and always on the same weekends. This year, between a partial schedule up here with us and the rallycross schedule in Willows, you should be able to get plenty of cheap seat time Brian.

I know, but I do prefer to hunt quail. It just seems like all the quail live in towns around here. However, I will probably have to leave my dog here in Nevada with my brother. At least with him he will be hunted. As I highly doubt I will be able to find a place in Chico that I can have a dog.
