Dont sweat the petty... Pet the sweaty.
Default TRADE: 06 wrb wrx bumper for 05-07 wrb sti bumper

So I was interested in getting some Karlton flares for the wrx. I emailed Karlton and he said that in order for the flares to fit correctly in the rear, I needed to have an 05-07 sti REAR bumper.

I was curious if anybody here would be willing to trade me their WRB bumper for my WRB bumper plus I'll throw in like $100 and some beer if you want. I just dont want to buy a new bumper just for the flares.. If anybody is interested in helping out, please let me know.

Thank you,
Austin

Other than the fog lights I didn't know there was a difference in 06-7 bumper between STI and WRX.

I don't even know if we're talking about front or rear bumpers. I'm assuming rear, since the front bumpers are drastically different between '05 and '06... like $4000 in fenders, headlights, hood, and radiator support, different.

What's the difference between WRX and STi rear bumpers?

I thought the old difference was in '03 to '04 when the tail lights got the round parts. I thought every rear bumper from '04 to '07 was the same between WRX and STi. Is it because of the STi's little fender flares in the rear?

I'd be surprised if that makes a difference for fitting some aftermarket flares... and if it does, then how will the '05+ STi bumper & flares fit properly on a WRX without the rear stock flares?

05-07 sti rear bumpers have that little "flare" on them that continues around the fender. wrx's and 04 sti's do not.

Right, I'm just surprised it makes a difference to something that's going to completely cover that anyway. I'm sure whoever's doing the body work should be able to blend it for less than the cost of even a used bumper.

I have a set of Karlton Flares new in the box that I have not put on yet. I'll let you test fit them to see if you even need the rear bumper if you want.
