Single Tip, I paid 655 including shipping, which was cheaper than the with-out shipping price from perrin, so i guess I did allright

Default Wagon Mods

Looks like The Perrin Exhaust will be delivered tomorrow and Yes I plan on installing it myself.
(I have air tools and most specialty tools and a garage)

So far all I have done it an AEM short ram intake (makes a nice sound, but i think it actually hurts performancs [all the hot air]), and put some 5ziegen
17x7 RS6 wheels with Kumho 215 45 17 ASX's, and two fosgate HE2 12's and a pioneer mp3 deck. I also replaced the factory headlight bulbs with sylvania silverstar bulbs. When I bought it the all the windows were tinted except the fronts, and the undercarriage was sprayed with sound deadening material. And of course no WRX is complete without a good radar detector (beltronics 935 express).

Maybe someday Ill try this:
http://www.tmz.com/wrx/build3.htm

My plans for the future are to replace the downpipe (one with a high-flow cat in the mid-pipe) and the uppipe (I have heard that the 05 models up-pipe don't have the guts in their cat so I might not replace that). I also wan't a cobb access port, and some whiteline front and rear sway bars. I also have 2 pairs of Boston 6 1/2 speakers that Im going to try and install. Then I will be happy... I also want a really agressive set of studded tires for my factory rims for the winter.

Wow...that's a lot of stuffs in the rear of your car. I used to build systems like that. My biggest and baddest featured 2, sometimes 4 18" subs! It was pretty cool watching the screws from the license plate rattle loose.

I too was considering a "Carputer." There's lots of fun stuff you can do with those. I lost interest when I saw I could carry 40 gigs of music on an IPOD or simply record MP3 Discs and play a large amount of music that way.

Default THE PERRIN IS INSTALLED

I Just got the Perrin exhaust installed, WOW... It sounds great.
The only difficulties i ran into were that the bolts supplied would not fit through the catalytic converter flange, so I had to bore the flange holes out a little.

I don't know about that. I've heard the Perrin exhaust. You'll need the 12's to keep up.

Default The sound

I agree, the Perrin exhaust is loud, but I like it! This is my first 5spd hearing the rpms really helps out. I did notice the my engine has more vacuum on decelleration and at idle (it used to be @ -.5 now its half between -.5 and -.1 ).
The 3in piping really helps the engine breath.

Any chance your going to the meet on Thursday? I'm on vacation and will be there and would love to hear your exhaust. Listening around to figure out what I'd like on mine. -Thx

I'm still trying to decide which exhaust to go with as well. I want something deep without being ricey, buzzy, or too loud. A friend of one of my employees has a Stromung dual-tip on his WRX - sounds nice, and they both recommend it.

ESPELIR.... its all of those things cept its a bit on loud side, but NOWHERE near turboxs rfl

Also Invidia sounds great, is just like above, cept looks a bit better IMHO and has less thump and is smoother.

nothing will sound ricey till you rock the equal length headers

Why does my wiring scare you?
I wired it right the first time in my first WRx (03 bugeye), but i yanked it out quickstyle when i traded it in and installed it just as quick... Besides everything is fused.

Psst! Phil's a professional installer... and a perfectionist. He'd probably find something wrong with your wiring even if it was 10/10.
