Default New Logo?

Is it just me or did the Logo on the forum get a refresh?

Actually, that's from the "new" logo I drew up for stickers in 2007 that I never got made because I was never able to repair the sticker cutter I got back then.

Maybe Cory's still willing to manage getting them made and selling them via his friend in the business... but I know he's not been all that free lately.

I'm definitely down, but I know Jim (my sticker making friend) has been super busy lately. Making stickers hadn't been paying the bills, so he had to get a regular job... I'll get with him and see about it tho!

I think the new one is O. k. I think I liked the style of the old one better. I am not a fan of the embossed look with skinny text but, that is just me.

While I really like the new style (the S's are more curvey in order to fit the subaru stars under them), I'm not sure if I'm sold on the embossed/shaded look either. But I thought I'd just mix it up a bit from the old one since it was totally flat.

Holy crap. Speaking of logos and such. I was going through all my old files and found a picture that I started working on about a year ago and then just forgot about. I don't know why I never finished it but I did today because I still think its pretty cool.

Sperry, i have a buddy with a set up for die-cut stickers. Can do the logo for a great price most likely, but can't do the color fade on the mountains in the background. I can put you in touch with him if you would like?

The stickers would not include the mountain fade or embossed look. Having done stickers and hoodies a bunch of times in the past, I'm pretty on top of what can/can't be done, and how to provide the logo to the printers for minimal effort on their part.

The real problem w/ getting the stickers made isn't finding someone to do it at a good price, it's finding someone in the club that's willing and able to track the inventory, take and ship the orders, handle the money, etc. For that we have only a handful of people with access to the club's PayPal account and no one has had the time to handle the sales of the stickers. Plus I'm uncomfortable giving access to our PayPal account to people I don't personally know.

That makes sense. Plus for the work, undoubtedly the margins are low. No worries. was just throwing it out there, trying to help out.

Well, my guy is super busy lately, and can't really put aside the time to cut the stickers for us, but if we can manage to get them made, I'd still be down to handle the distribution.

MPREZIV, thanks. I'm not trying to make any money and my friend will make fair quote. He has done great work for many small companies/ friends for a long time and is a great guy. Sperry, you know that there are pros and cons to promotion, but what i have seen so far from this site is that there is a local camaraderie in this area. A few stickers instigating a wave or nod is a good thing. right?

I think its been more of a timing thing. I talked to Scott about doing the stickers ages ago but, I don't think either of us had the time to sit down and work out a detailed plan of how to make it flow. I just did the stickers for flat4 and the only reason that happened so quickly was because Tommy and Chris had a plan in place.

It's not like we've never done stickers before:

http://www.seccs.org/forums/showthread.php?t=403

http://www.seccs.org/forums/showthread.php?t=432

So, we do know what it takes to get them made and sold. But we haven't had a huge demand for them and no one wants to pay the printing cost out of hand then have to try to sell them for the next two years to get their money back. The alternative is to take pre-orders and manage the money and inventory before ordering them. Which we've done in the past, but that takes a lot of effort... more effort than has seemed worthwhile considering that there hasn't been a big demand for the decals.

I'm not opposed getting some stickers made to have on hand, and it would only take me a few minutes to check that the design in Illustrator I've got is good to go. But I don't know about floating the cost of getting a batch made, and I'd rather not go the long tedious route of pre-orders.

I would be willing to put 25 dollars into something like that. Sorry if that is'nt much.
