We have loaners available. If you keep an eye out, you can find brand new M2000 rated helmets under $100 shipped. Try soloracer.com, racerwholesale.com, etc.

Yes we have loaners. 90 is still OK for autocross I believe.

Don't worry about tires. Come out and burn up the ASXs or whatever is on whatever wheels, and if yo ulike it, then decide. You will learn a lot faster on less sticky tires because they have better feedback, both audible, and tactile.

The worst thing you can do as a newbie driver is buy a set of Hoosiers.

Come out and have fun on whatever.

Oh, and occasionally, we are more pediatric than pedantic...

The requirement as I've heard it is Snell SA2000 or M2000, don't know if Snell 90 will work.

Loaners are available.

Snell 90 is okay for this year. Next year I think it goes to Snell 95.

Ditto what Dean said about tires. You'd learn faster on the ASXS... but have more fun on the RT-215s. Whatever works for you.

"4.3.1 Helmets
Helmets meeting the following standards must be worn while on
course: All helmets meeting the current or two immediately preceding
Snell Foundation standards (SA or M) are acceptable. For 2003 this
includes Snell 2000, Snell 1995, and Snell 1990. FIA approved
helmets which are acceptable for use in Performance Rally events are
acceptable for Solo II events."

Since the 2005 ratings are not out, 2000 is current, 1995, and 1990 are the two preceding.

For Club racing it is current and -1. so 1995.

Yeah, its sweet too, gold 5 spokers. Its spent its whole life in Truckee and the paint is not even completely ruined....only minor travesty thanks to a combination of winter road sand and a manzier on the car...Ill persuade him to come out, I havent even seen nor heard what its like with his new intake, exh, and susp and wheels and all this other silliness hes put on there since Ive moved to Rena...

Unicorns rule! A kid in the bay area just swapped an EJ20 into his... currently I defer to him as having the best RS ever.
