Default EGT Gauge

I am ordering the defi EGT gauge and I was wondering if I could install it in the uppipe where the factory egt was? In the uppipe install it said you no longer need the factory egt because of there being no cat.

You want it in the headers, as close to the engine as possible. Most people put it next to cylinder #3, since this is the one that runs lean first if there are fuel pressure problems. Putting it in the uppipe is completely useless, the temp will already be several hundred degrees cooler there.
