is the metal below the air bag on the steering wheel steel or aluminum? I'd like to switch to a full sized wheel in my rally car .. i have an old sti wheel but its aluminum under near and not as easy to weld something to, so i can attach it to my quick release hub...

? can you post a pick of the back of the wheel?

Why would you need to weld a steering wheel to a QR hub?

i want to bolt it to the QR hub, but there isn't metal over where i need to bolt it to (just void) so i was thinking just get a steel plate welded to it. and drill holes in that and bolt it up..

although i guess i could get tricky and bolt it to a steel plate, and bolt that to the QR hub and call it a day...

hmmmmf

Just get a wheel in the size you want that's designed for a QR hub. A jury-rigged steering wheel seems like a bad idea. In fact, I'd be surprised if you'd pass tech inspections with a factory wheel welded to a QR.

ya it could be a bad idea... ive actually had my wheel nearly come off once on stage and had to grab the hub to steer.. it was a crazy holy crap moment and that was just on a 1.8 with crap gearing.. 2.5 with 4.44s would be epically worse ...

guess if the shoe dont fit, dont wear it

Nice Halman BC. Is it the Pro RX (ceramic ball)? Does it come with both springs or just the one you use with Subarus?
