Default good toggle switches that fit subaru

I've asked this on nasioc but didn't get very good specific response. i'm looking for a power toggle switch that will fit nicely in a subaru. i bought one from Kragen and part of the switch was broken trying to fit it in. Now it's stuck and ugly. I've found plenty of switches searching but don't know which will fit good enough in the 'blank' switch spots. a couple from summitracing i've found are:

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

The website says it will fit 'standard' rectangular cutouts. Are Subaru cutouts standard? I've also heard that i need to look for switches for import cars. Just curious what switches you guys are using. thanks.

Best option is to get something smaller than the blanks, then cut out the blank with a dremel to fit the switch. You can buy spare blanks at Subaru, but they're like $5 each.

The OEM fog control switch also makes a good toggle, and nothing will look cleaner once installed.

Except their a massive PITA to wire, especially if you plan to wire the back-lighting... unless of course you drop $350 on a fog light wiring harness to get the connector for them, then it's a breeze.

I used a toggle switch that came with the Hellas I have in the front bumper --- it's a clear illuminated green rocker. I did some "creative modifying" of the blank insert using a drill and dremel to get it and the associated wiring plug to fit, but it looks pretty clean. Plus, my car is green too :-) Did the same thing for the security package valet button.

Looks like i'll be buying a dremel. 3 of the 4 blanks require a very specific block shape switch, like for the OEM fog lights.

I dont know if you have ever made any custom interior parts before but there is a material called Duramix 40/40 and 40/60. Its in a double tube such as bathtub calking and it works awesome for custom fabbing plastic interior parts. Its mainly used for filling holes and blending 2 pieces into 1. Such as blending the outer trim ring of a head unit into the dash to make the factory look.

So if I were you I would use the dremel idea and then If you wanted to clean it up and make it look good use something like that and then sand it down and paint it black.

We sell these rocker switches at Napa, they fit in the stock holes very nicely. I'm on vacation right now, otherwise I'd give you the part number, but they are made by JT&T. Here's some crappy cell phone pics.

Khail --- nice, thanks for the tip. I may have to pick a couple of those up next time I'm in a Napa.

i ended up getting a switch from summit racing. the 3 blanks to the left are the ones that would require a dremmel for non OEM switches to go in. the blank where my new switch is in was the same kind of blank from khail19's pictures. there are two more of these regular blanks by the e-brake.
