Hell Yeah!!!!!!!! Finally!!!! I'm very happy to have the right Driver/car/pax/cheater factors working in my favor this year. Feels pretty weird to clinch with 2 weekends to go though...

Also, I'm pretty happy to have jumped up a class saturday and win, ST* is so competitive, maybe I'll start shopping for some bits for the mini for next year

Congratulations Matt!!!!! So happy for you! Well-deserved!

I think having that broken swaybar bracket fixed sure made a difference in my times this weekend. Thanks Dean for the miracle work in finding a replacement bracket and running us around to handle that, and Thanks Bob/KSpeed for fixing it!!

Congrats, Matt! What is everyone driving? I see Kevin W. listed as driving his RS in SM and getting 4th in raw? That can't be right. And whose WRX is Kevin M. running in ESP?

I was driving Ahren Renner's black bugeye sedan. You might know him, he was running novice last year. He's gotten fast this season.

Winning pax with a cheater pax factor is the only way to go. The howls of anguish make it all worthwhile.

Here are some of my runs from Sunday.

I had stupid tire pressures and was driving like an idiot on Saturday so it's not even worth posting those videos

Here are a few that I took from the weekend right off the camera. I have a bunch more, but haven't loaded them up yet.

Auto-crossers reading this, here's a post from Wes on the Reno SCCA site, in case you haven't been on there:

Due to circumstances beyond our control (noise complaint at Squaw) we are having to change the dates and location of events 10 & 11. The new dates are September 8 & 9, and the location is Reno Fernley Raceway. We will be using the upper part of the track while the track program will be using the horsepower course. After much thinking and planning this is the only solution the BOD could come up with on such short notice. The run groups format will change to "2+2". We will have 2 run groups in the morning and 2 run groups in the afternoon both days. You can drive in either the morning or the afternoon or both. Your best time of the day will be the one that counts. We are doing this because generally the turnout at RFR is low and we need to be able to have enough corner workers. This will cause some scheduling challenges for those that are driving in both the track and solo events. We will allow the track drivers to take their solo runs whenever they have a break. We will also coordinate the lunch break with the track and there will be sandwiches available for $5.00
Again, we will NOT be running at Squaw on Sept. 1&2, but will be at Reno Fernely Raceway on Sept. 8&9.

Yeah, as much as I like running at Fernley, I don't think I'll be able to make it on either day. oops. Too bad about Squaw, but honestly, the Squaw event is almost too much trouble to pull off successfully.

Yeah, I'm sure running at RFR will hurt turn-out significantly, but it was the safest financial choice, seeing that we're already renting the entire track for the track day. It's basically free rent for the solo course, if anybody other than Wes and I show up...

I'll be there assuming we're not in labor or tending to a newborn. I'd love to tag team the day with some track time too. But I'm broke

Need to figure out why my backend keeps coming around too. Think I'll be runnin my stock rear bar that weekend.

Do we know ahead of time if the normal 2 morning/2 afternoon groups will be ran or will it be the 3 groups ran out of town style? We were planning on running in the AM because we're leaving town, just wanted to know so we can plan accordingly.

The last I heard, everyone runs in the morning, then again in the afternoon.

If you show up for both morning and afternoon you get twice as many runs as you would if you only showed up morning or afternoon.

All runs from the whole day count for points.

I think this was because they were expecting a low turnout, and needed to do something to have enough workers.
