Default OBD II help

I can't get the evaporative canister monitor to set. I've gone through a full tank of gas, 170 miles, freeway, in-town, idling, hot starts... not sure what else I can do. If I can't get that monitor to set, I can't register the wagon (except of course by trying to pass the OBDI tailpipe test and not telling the smog shop about the swap I guess, but I'd like to get the official stamp of approval for it.

Any ideas?

Shouldn't be. The monitor is failing to meet the set conditions, not reporting a failure. I've never thrown a CEL related to it, and it's been about 16 months since I got it running and driving.

Stuck, or bad sensor or maybe electrical problem of some form could cause that.

Just like the idiot light on the gas gauge. If the tank/canister never empties, the light never comes on, but you don't know if it works either.

So whatever clears that test is never occurring, but that is not sufficient for it to say there is a problem and cause a CEL.
