Hey guys, as most of you know i'm lookin for rims. The problem is, winter is comming around and footing for rims + tires and another set of winter tires for my Enki's would just about torch my wallet...

SO, i came up with this idea, To buy the rims with high perf. all seasons (pzero nero's) and just run those all year. It would save me like 700$ because i would have to buy one less set of tires.

what do you guys think? Good/bad idea.

I think you should wait and get some summer wheels/tires next year. Put some winter 17's on for this winter!

I would agree...You end up compromising on both ends when you use all seasons... The Pirelli's are the only ones I'd consider for Double duty..I had those P Zero's on my 18's when I bought them, I loved them for dry but they were the wrong size (225-40-1 ...Eric still has those tires BTW.

Never got a chance to use them in the weather, but they were good in the wet

Personally, I'd say by some Dunlop Winter Sport M3's or Even Pirelli P Zeros for Winter and then step up to a true summer tire in the spring. Evo's, STi's and WRX's need high performance tires...Taht's my feeling.

BTW, I could not open any of those PM's so I don't know which wheel you're looking at...

My contis are pretty awesome in the snow. I'd buy something like them and then get another set of summer rims/tires next summer.

My old 17"x8" Bronze rota torques with 235/40 st-115's (less than 5 months old) - $850. Not sure about the evo bolt pattern though?

I think the bronze would look great on black!

Depends on what you do in the winter... If you ski in "any" weather, or drive over the summit regulary, dedicated snows are the way to go, period.

On the other hand, if all you do is drive around Washoe valley, with occasional fairer weather skiing, HP all seasons are a good option. Even though I have two sets of wheels for the A4, all I have is one set of HTR+s on them right now for the whole year.

These are a pretty good tire for our region year round IMHO with the caveats I listed above...

ever since my stock tires went bald(5K)..LOL I went with HTR+(Sumitomo's) and I have been driving in these since then.. They are an awesome tire for the money and yes ZR rated and still have an agresive tire tread .. even for the EVO.. I have also seen some WRX's with them on and the guys seem to be happy...
So to answer your question is go for an All Season tire.. that way you dont have the hassle of having to replace them with summer tires..
Just my Opinion..
