Default I-Club Track Day - Buttonwillow - 3/22

http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...0&pagenumber=1

Kevin's trying to talk me into going, and he's doing a good job. I think I may be in, unless it conflicts with RenoSCCA or Dean's Audi Club event at Pahrump.

Some FYI on this event fellas-

Looks like Alex is expecting ~40 cars on track.
Subaru of America will be there, VERY possibly with a Legacy GT!
ESX will be there.
S-Squared will be there.
I-Speed will be there.
Vishnu will be there.
Cobb will most likely (80% chance according to what they told Alex) be there.
SubyDude will have a booth there, along with Bozz, MPJ, and GB Motorsports. Gino will also be responsible for tech inspections.
There will be instructors provided.
40ish cars in 3 groups means LOTS of track time.
There will be a swap meet, lunch will be provided, and oh yeah, it's going to be a Subaru-only event. Don't be at all surprised to see some magazine coverage as well. Looks like it's shaping up to be one hell of a party.

Oh yes- entry is only $165 guys. Really a bargain after what ya'll are throwin' at Seca. I also reserved a double occupancy room for 2 nights for like $65. I think Alex got a group rate for us at like $29 a night. Any other excuses you folks may have for not attending, please post them up in this thread so I can shoot holes in them and coerce you into coming down.

Oh, and no conflicts with other events, except for the Double National at Thunder Hill. Were any of you besides Dean expecting to attend that?

And, even if you don't want to participate, you can be a monkey like me and just hang out in the paddock. Watch stupid fast Subarus, try to get someone to give you a ride (unless you are prone to motion sickness ) or play with around with the rest of us not playing on the track.

Well, Pahrump got cancelled, and it looks like Seca's not gonna happen... why's this gotta be on a weekday!!

Plus that weekend right before it, I'm invited by some of my company's big-wigs to go to their track day at Top Gun (drag strip)... not exactly my cup of tea, but it'd be cool to rub elbows with some of the upper managment types from IGT (plus they have some SICK cars... my boss's '99 Supercharged Viper puts down 600hp at the wheels). That's also the weekend of the SFR/Reno double national at Thunderhill, and while I'm not eligible to drive in it, I did want to go work it. Damn that'll be a busy weekend!

So... I can't say yes yet, but I'll look in to making it.

F@#% It! I'll Go

Seriously, I might consider going now,,, However, This means two days off work as well as probabaly 2 nights hotel..

Does this conflict with anything else? I can't remember, but I think I'm supposed to be at Thunder Hill for the SCCA event that weekend. I'll have to check that out before I decide. ..

Does anyone besides mike and I have an inclination to go? It would be a damn good time I'm sure.

Buttonwillow is down in Southern/ Central valley... South of Fresno I believe. I would want to get there Sunday night and leave tuesday morning probably. Sharing a room is cool. Looks like there are some cheap ass room near the track. I'm definately leaning towards going.

Did you miss my post? It *almost* conflicts with the T-Hill Double National. And, yes I'm interested in trying to get out there.

Um. I am toying with the idea of going to THill on Saturday/ Sunday for SCCA, driving to Buttonwillow Sunday Night, waking up, running Iclub track day, then, dependnig on how late it goes, either staying another night there, or driving to SAC and getting a hotel room. Then Drive home to Reno Tues morning. It would be quite a marathon, but pretty cool.

Not a bad plan. I just need to figure out if I'm doing Top Gun over working the Double National. Top Gun would just be 1 day, so it'd be alot easier to get to BWillow with all day Sunday to drive.

yeah, i'm going to go to that, I assumed we should attend the seminar as well as work the double national at THill. i may indeed end up doing the seminar only, I'm not 100% sure on attending the Double National yet, I think the IClub track day has taken priority for me.

Don't worry, it's on the list of all the stuff I'm not working on for the new site.

Okay, do we have a list of participants from Reno yet?

sperry - I'm 90% there
MattR - I think he paid already
MikeSTi - said he was interested?
ArthurS - spectating?

How many rooms are we gonna need?
