What to do about flat spoted tires?

Well, turns out my rims werent bent, two of my tires are actually flat spoted :(

Any idea what I can do about it? Shave them, replace them, or get a whole new set? (I cant afford a whole new set right now, and these MX's still have a ton of tread left and only 8000 miles on them)

Try shaving them, It can't hurt. You probably need to do all 4 if they need more than a couple 32nds.

Yes, live from the plush and stylish Amerisuites in exciting Memphis, TN, where the current time is 10:57PM....

At least I have broadband in the hotel, not WebTV...

Note: These are daily driver tires too

Right now, im thinking of just replacing the two bad ones and running it like that. I did that before after I had that run in with a rock a couple years back and had to replace a tire/wheel, worked fine... Those tires were far more worn than these too.

I've heard that you should shave the two new tires on AWD cars. I don't know the specifics of why the advice was given, I just know it was given.

If you get new, IMHO you should shave them to within 2/32nds of the others.

Since you will likley end up shaving anyway, why not try shaving the flat spotted ones. If after they are still within 2/32nd of the others, put them in the rear until the good ones wear down to their level in the front.

If I have them all shaved down to where the flat spots are, there wont me much left of the tires... Thats why.

Next time leave the ABS activated. Would have saved you some cash and grief.
