Default Testing the waters...VF39/43

Well, I am bored with the power in my car...its pretty set up suspension wise and I have been stage 2 for a while now. I was just seeing if anybody has an old Vf39 or VF43 laying around...not in a huge rush to buy just seeing if anybody local has a turbo they want to get rid of in the near future. Oh and if anybody has an STI TMIC or equivalent they don't need or want let me know. Thanks.

You don't want a 39... I have yet to see one that isn't cracked. MikeK's had started after only 5K miles or so I think. Not that they don't keep working, just that why buy something that has a known failure...

Actually I really do want a 39, the crack is quite minimal and really won't hurt my goals. Plus used 39's go for less than $350. So why not? In my opinion I can't beat the bang for the buck upgrade of a VF39, $300 for a TMIC and $300 for a VF39 and close to 300 hp (well not on 91) but still a great upgrade. Plus my 06 injectors run equal to STi pinks so no need for an upgrade there.

That's awesome you don't have upgrade the injectors. Does that mean you don't need a fuel pump either?

The fuel pump is a recommended upgrade, but only really stressed for tuning. So before I get tuned I will pick up a Walbro and a Grimmspeed BCS and then I am set.

Yeah, I was just hoping to buy locally, I hate using paypal or sending money, I prefer face to face transactions. Seeing if anybody had a friend or somebody nearby that had a turbo and wanted to get rid of it.

I posted in that thread asking what kind of turbo inlet he had like a week ago and there still is no response. I ordered a Walbro and some gaskets from Rallysportdirect a few days ago. Just waiting to install everything this weekend...but I'm getting excited lol

Sweet! Now save up some money this Winter so you can get a couple track days or at least autocrosses next year.

Yeah! I can't wait to get to push the car at a few AutoX next summer. The only think I need now are tires, and hopefully I can pick up a set before the season starts.

You should get out and get your feet wet this weekend at Stead Airport. Otherwise, you'll be waiting until April.
