My left front strut is stripping out where it bolts to the top mount, so I need another. If anybody has one or knows of one I can get quickly that would be excellent. Needs to be '04 STi for 5x100 hubs.

I was thinking about that. You could just rethread it one metric or SAE size smaller! the taper/shaft centers and takes the load, not the nut. It just keeps it from falling out of the mount.

Not really, since I'm pretty sure Cory has one. I'm just not sure I want to do shortcut fixes on a car I plan to keep for a very long time.

It is not a shortcut IMHO. You could do both fronts if you want symmetry.

True enough. I really don't think it compromises anything though was my point or I would not have suggested it.
It should easily outlast the life of the strut if not mangled again. And if Cory doesn't have the die, a machine shop that does can't charge more than 15 minutes labor to do it.

Strut lowers are different, but the inserts should be the same (or work as a matched set side to side, anyways). Hell, I had '05 STi inserts in V5 housings on the wagon many moons ago.
