Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong spot but it seemed like it made some sense. Basically I was looking at getting a used greddy TD06-25g turbo kit. I've done some research but was wondering if any one has comments about it good or bad. Just trying to get some feedback if people know anything about it. Someone is selling it on i-club. Thanks for any help.

I'm not aware at the specs on the Greddy kit. I just know that a 25G turbo sounds kinda too big for a 2.0L. The TD06-20G is a really popular turbo for the 2.5 STi motor... so going bigger on a smaller motor sounds super laggy.
I would think a TD05-18G would be a better match for the 2.0L.

+1 I will have to agree on that... The best for a 2.0L would be a 16g.. a 18g is pushing it.. you will need all supporting mods for the turbo swap and a good tune.. Oh yah maybe a upgraded tranny too..

Okay thanks. That sounds like it's a pretty bad choice for me then. I really appreciate the help.

I like how people say "its to big". To big for what? to big for autocross yes. To big for road course maybe(probably would be fine on a 2.0). To big for drag no. For trap speeds on an 18g turbo on sti up at this altitude its 114/116mph at best which for most drivers is a mid to low 12 second pass. I personally think that is not that impressive of a trap speed. For an 11 second 1/4 daily driven sti you would need a minimum of a 20g and that would would be pushing it assuming you had all the supporting mods. If you like going fast down sell your self short on to small of a turbo because it will just lead you to have to buy a knew one. a 25g turbo can be put on a 2.0 wrx and make decent power on a tune that is going to be safe.

Since most people like having a car with a wide power band, early spool, and gobs of bottom-end torque, and since it's much more fun to drive and faster everywhere but the drag strip, 99% of people will say a 25G is "too big" for a 2.0L WRX.

basically yes. I do not disagree. For all we know this guy only cares about going fast in a straight line though.

Back before all the big stock-location turbos came out, and before all the Garrett-based rotated kits, that Greddy kit was just about the biggest thing you could get for a WRX. I agree with most that it is too much turbo for a street 2.0L with a 7k rev. limit. I don't know if it would even spool by 5k rpm up here at altitude.
