haha, I forgot about those pictures.

If there's lightning in the area is about the only reason running comes to a stop. Then we just wait around for it to move away.

As as safety steward, I would delay or cancel an event for visibility in addition to lightning. If the workers can't see the cars, the event can't be run.

Excellent point.
(I hope we never have one of those days! And it sure would be nice if we had a sunny day tomorrow.)

I loved the track, but I didn't have a very good day. My car keeps dying out while on course. I'm not going to race tomorrow. Once I fix the problem I'll be back out there.

Some pictures.

It was to cold most of time to go around snapping pictures.

As soon as the weather picks up I'll be taking some awesome shots.

MikeK destroys everyone, man I remember when he was a rookie from down under?

Wow! What a weekend. I am SO happy everyone enjoyed the track. The best part was that at first a lot of people were intimidated by the turns, and upset at how technical the course was...then, by the end of the day, everyone was smiling and the worst I got was a "It's no so bad afterall" from a corvette driver. It was indeed very challenging, and the SECCS Motorsports Subarus REALLY stepped up. All in All, I'd say it was one of the more enjoyable courses I've run. The Sweeper (Spoon Turn :0) was one of the most fun sections I can remember...

Mike K and Debbie, absolutely dominating driving, congrats on such exceptional runs.

Anyway, Three days of working on that and I'm exhausted, thanks for the help to all that pitched in, from helping set and pick cones, to loading the bus, you guys were great. (Eric, Mike K, Mike H, Tyson, Brian, Chris, Dean, Pat, Debbie, Kevin, Nick) I hope that's everyone...

I'm out.

Sorry I missed it. That looks like a blast. I only made it up the hill this afternoon. I definately want to make one of these very soon, hopefully the next. Sounds like Mike K is totally stoked with his car; talk about being able to justify your purchase.........no buyers remorse there. You know complimenting the car helps keep the drivers head size in check. Don't want to force the purchase of a new helmet or something.

Nice work to all of you.

Yeah, I had a blast. I beat the time I wanted to, and almost got a second lower then that too

Yeah, I was totally stoked about how well everything worked out. The track was really fun both days- and that's hard to do, a lot of the time a great track on saturday doesn't work well on sunday. I'm also enjoying being more involved witht he whole event beyond jsut driving. Working timing paper today was nice witht he weather, but is actually fairly challenging. And next event I'll take on learning to work as Safety, and after that, it's Tech... I'll be a one man (wrecking) crew out there before long.

Scott, Matt, congrats again on the event. The course ruled and everything ran smooth as silk.

Matt & Scott:
What an exhausting, yet exhilirating experience to chair an autocross weekend, huh?

You guys laid down a very challenging and fun course, and kept things running quite smoothly. Congrats, and thank you guys for all YOUR energy and effort in putting it on.

It was pretty cool to watch the improvements and learnings that some of our rookie drivers were making too. A very rewarding weekend for many.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about the track. It turned out better than I expected it would... especially after Matt and I tried a few times to make Laguna Seca or Sears Point fit on Stead's tarmac and came up w/ garbage. Then Matt suggested Suzuka and we did some flipping about of the course to come up with what we ran last weekend.

As far as keeping things running smoothly... that's all Matt... shit, that's what he does for a living. Me, I just move cones around when required. Plus there was a lot of tireless work by many people that made the event possible. In addition to the people MattR mentioned, I'd like to thank Larry Kapen for being the 1st one there and the last one to leave during setup and again on Sat/Sun. And Dean for all the timing and scoring help... especially since the 1st weekend is a nightmare. And of course Dean again and Debbie for the Friday milkshakes!

Now, what I'm still trying to figure out is how everyone got so much faster during the off season... and I'm not talking about mods and new cars... It seems like everyone really picked up their driving somehow! And I know Mike got a new car and Tyson got new coilovers... but their times have somehow gotten better than those changes would suggest. Hell, Mike beat all the TSM cars in *raw* time on Sunday, in his *stock* car!?!

In attrition news... this event finally killed my clutch. On the way to the track Sunday morning I noticed that if I'm on the freeway at 70mph and I floor it in 5th... as soon as the boost comes on, the clutch breaks loose and the rpm's climb w/o accelerating the car. Looks like I'm gonna have to install that 6-speed a little sooner than I was planning.

Scott is being modest...He put a lot of time in on the course design...Seriously, we worked about as hard as two people can to ensure the thing went off... It was a big help working under Dean at last year's event in Hawthorne, that was a good start for me at least.

Scott's only downfall is his inability to wake up early..
